3 fouls?

Looking at the stats for last nights match at Man city I noticed we only committed 3 fouls in the entire game. I know the game has changed a lot since I first started watching football back in the 60's but does that sound like a team that is scrapping for it's life. Watching the likes of Chelsea this season they are always quite prepared to commit a foul when the opposition look remotely threatening.

The only thing Morgan seems to be able to foul this season is the floor.

Blimey Tommy; that reaction is a bit harsh.

the OP raised a reasoned, considered point and you jump down his throat. It was just a question and a not unreasonable at that.

If the opposition has got so much possession then I think maybe we should be a bit more aggressive in our closing down and tackling to make sure we get it back.

I didn't see the game or the highlights so have no idea how much we did this.

I did speak to a Man City fan today who said he felt two of the three penalties should have been given and 'yet again' we were unlucky.

If my response comes across as a bit harsh then I apologise to the OP and yourself for offending you.
I am just a tad frustrated that the implication of the OP reads like they are questioning the commitment due to the number of fouls given away.
As Dung says you have to be near a player to foul him and from the ground last night we did seem content to let them play upto our back line then break the play up ( whether deliberately or not).
But as TB says we have committed more than our fair share of fouls this season so that negates the OP point about our players scrapping each game.
That's my point.
Again my apologies if my forceful response has offended anyone, that was not my intention.

Dung beat me too it but thats pretty low amount against a top team put them on there backsides boys.

Probably just as well because we hardly got out of our penalty area.
Tactics seemed fairly good I thought, pity we didn't take advantage when we did break out.
For Slupp to give the ball away just before half time and to go one down really did highlight our season.

I must admit that my first reaction was along the lines of Tommy's. It could indicate we weren't scrapping, but it equally could be indicating an incredibly disciplined performance.

We've made many errors this season, but I've not personally felt that the players aren't committed.

The team continues to show an amazing level of commitment - being bottom of the league has absolutely nothing to do with lack of effort. UTF.

give a foul here give a foul there but what you dont do is give one like James did in the 94th minute home to Burnley

Could of done with giving a fould away when we lost the ball in their half and they scored

No offence taken at all Tommy. I think we are not so savvy as other teams when it come to breaking up play and are too easy to play against.
