AW should start Akpom against Monaco - he's begging for a chance, he's got pace to burn, he can finish, plus we have nothing to lose.

How does the op know akpom caj score goals?

I haven't checked it, but froms mentions on the radio as I tend my allotment on a Saturday afternoon, I rather got the impression JET was scoring for fun down there?

This obsession with Akpom is becoming ridiculous. The boy has played in 9 matches, and apart from winning a penalty against a useless and out-of-sorts Villa, he has failed to score or do anything to write home about.

Afobe was nearer to Arsenal first team than Akpom, who might do well with a loan spell.

Not obsession on my part. I would like to properly see what he's made of, and late subs tell little about hi, whereas Sanogo got multiple starts for us.

Good article
I'd like to see Akpom afforded the same amount of opportunities Sanogo some how got with us. I think he could thrive in front of the likes of Ozil & Cazorla he's got an arrogance/confidence about him that I think won't see him phased by the occasion.
Game time is crucial for these kids Bellerin, Martinez and Chambers have all made positive impact this season at some stage it's about opportunity and Chuba seems hungry

Are you serious?
What has he done to suddenly be promoted to the first team ? He has good potential and that is all. He's been o.k when he's come on but not exactly set the world alight.
Why to people always over-estimate how good players are when they're not playing?

We need to score 3 goals and its a big ask with a young ine3xperienced striker. While I can understand the sentiment of the OP I think his head has gone to far up his rs with the romance of the occasion.
Welbeck could be a good shout though as he will be desperate to prove himself and is more experienced.

I reckon Akpom could start for us sooner than some think but Giroud is in good form at the moment. Certainly, if we're winning by a couple at home in the last 20 mins or so, we should think about sending him on. That's why he came on against Villa. Looks a far better prospect than Sanogo at any rate.

Akpom would be better option then Welbeck up front..as far as I have seen, Akpom has that drive similar to Ox..which Welbeck doesn't..also Akpom seems to understand what striker needs to do compared to Welbeck, saying that we have hardly seen much else from the young lad.
I agree with the sentiment that Akpom should get more chances but him starting against Monaco is NO-GO considering Giroud's form late(yeah he does miss a lot), also the importance of the game and lastly inexperience of Akpom.
