Optimism

We never learn do we? As football fans, we can't help ourselves from getting all optimistic despite everything else.

Take me as an example. I started the week almost in a state of depression at how rubbish we were. It wasn't a question of if we'd win against Celtic this weekend, it was how much we'd be beaten by.

Fast forward to today and I'm now thinking "aye, we've got a chance". Nadir Ciftci winning his appeal, Celtic getting cuffed from St Johnstone (with a wonder goal by former Arab and silverkisser Danny Swanson), and then looking at the general pishness of the team Celtic are likely to put out has me dreaming of glory.

Yes, I'm ignoring our recent form. Yes, I'm ignoring the fact Ciftci has barely kicked his own backside the last few weeks. Yes, I'm ignoring the fact our pitch is in terrible condition which totally ruins the way we play. And yes, I'm ignoring the fact that we most likely will get beat.

But I'm starting to feel fairly optimistic that we'll get a result on Sunday.

Chairmen up and down the country must love daft bassas like me.

Even on away trips to Barcelona by kick off time I always expect us to win. If we don't have optimism we would be as well not bothering.

Anything can happen in a cup tie. The thing that I think goes in our favour now is that we had that bad result in midweek. The players will be looking to bounce back from that. Had we won on wed, we might have been a little more complacent on Sunday.

Is there some kind of weird phenomena going on making people post on this thread by mistake?

I clicked on Most Recent, read the few new ones, then accidentally clicked back on this one and not the Chelsea one

Still, it ups the numbers on your post count, and all the threads here go off topic sooner or later, you've just bypassed the on-topic debate
