Ryan Mason

This guy is fast becoming one of my favourite spurs players. Him, Lloris, Bentaleb, Kane and Eriksen.

I'm really enjoying the team effort Bentaleb and Mason are giving and its great that they have each others backs! I really enjoyed seeing Bentaleb take out Henry yesterday just minutes after Henry left one in on Mason. It was probably not the best advised move as he got a yellow and conceded a free kick that allowed them to launch the ball into the area but the intention and togetherness shown by the act was worth it.

I'm reading a lot of people here mention that Mason needs replacing because he is not technically good enough and I wondered if they still thought that was the case? I feel that he is a perfect foil for Bentaleb and could be our Darren Fletcher, a player that does not grab the headlines but provides great balance to the team. I also think that he is technically solid and cannot understand that point anyway.

For me the team is missing a number 10, like VDV was for us rather than another high energy sitting midfielder. That would put Eriksson on the left where he is super effective but that is besides the point. What are your expectations for the future team?

Bentaleb and Mason may give the ball away a bit, that is because they are always heavily involved. Sooner that than have players just standing around for most of the match.

Yeah Sandy I'm happy that they take risks, but there is room for improvement there and if we want to help our defence they'll need to. I think Bentaleb's pass completion % was like 70 yesterday, so not so high.

They're only young though, and other parts of their game are very good.

As we are such a young team (average age of 23-24) we are bound to make mistakes and that is why we struggle to see out games.

On the plus side, we are damn exciting to watch, have high energy levels and hardly get any injuries. I still think we would benefit by signing a Gallas type at CB who can marshall our defence and see the game in front of him.

Mason and Bentaleb are forming a fine partnership and we have the exciting Dele Alli to come in next season to complement them.

Hopefully Pritchard will get a chance next season and he can play the number 10 role or off the left. We still need to buy another wide attacker and obviously a CF or Two.

We badly need to add some experience in the summer. Even if it's just to be around the squad.

The Gallas type signing is a good example

He should have been sent off 2 or 3 times yesterday

I'd like to see a more experienced player come in the summer to play alongside Bentaleb. Someone like Bender from Leverkusen

Can you see many buying shirts and having bender on the back ?

Mason has done really well for us this season and will get better.

I didn't realise that 'Mason' shirts had been flying off the racks either...

Anyway, as I mentioned earlier and also yesterday, i feel that our lack of game management could be down to a lack of experience in our team, and Mason is somewhere I feel we can improve on in terms of ability and experience. If you look at the spine of our team, it lacks experience. I feel a more experienced midfielder alongside Bentaleb would be good.

I feel we will get better if poch is free to bring in the players that he wants and not others

I've only just seen this and I do agree with what you are saying.

He does a very quiet role for us, but he does work well with Bentaleb and them 2 and becoming a good midfield partnership. Although I think we could do better, these 2 are doing a fine job. He provides us with a good engine and a bit more of a solid core. Something that Capoue and Paulinho cannot give us.

I think the fact he has come through the youth system has really helped. He has been brought up with some care in the youth system and does play the traditional English styled football, none of this tika-taka crap you see in Spain and Brazil. He has good knowledge of what to do and the fact he has been bought up the English way has really helped us succeed. Any team needs a good solid English midfielder running through the spine of the team and we have it with Mason.

I like the partnership, but I would like to see Schneiderlin alongside him a midfield. I feel he would work really well alongside him. As for our No.10, I feel Eriksen does a role there well and Chadli is some threat out wide imo. If we could though, maybe just get another strong player in there. At least it gives a challenge for Lamela and Townsend at least.
