Looks like the bloke that was abused on the Metro is milking it all.
Has even take time off work because he stressed. He didn't look that stressed in the video.

TCP, isn't posting this article simply giving another opportunity for that?
Also, please note that I spoke of the 'image' and at no time said Chelsea or the fans are this or that.
When we speak, we speak as individuals and do not represent an entire club or fanbase; and even then, we all sometimes make unfortunate statements we regret and that do not necessarily reflect our opinions.
One such example is your use of inverted commas around the word victim, as it seems to suggest that a guy shoved off a train and abused for his skin colour should not really considered a victim of anything at all, and that the term needs to be taken with a pinch of salt.
You're not really doing yourself any favours.

What's wrong with your reading comprehension, TCP?
I said that the people posting the article and/or taking part in what could be seen as the character assassination of a victim of racial abuse were doing the image of the club and its fans a disservice.
It is an opinion on specific, individual statements here. Not the incident, not the fans in general, not the club.
I also quoted your comment in the following context:
"we all make unfortunate statements we regret and that do not necessarily reflect our opinions"
In fact TCP, never in the years we've both been on this site now has it crossed my mind that you might be a racist. What I do think is that you're capable of saying some very stupid things just for the sake of an argument.

You're contradicting yourself. In one sentence you said
"When we speak, we speak as individuals and do not represent an entire club or fanbase"
Then go on to say
"I said that the people posting the article and/or taking part in what could be seen as the character assassination of a victim of racial abuse were doing the image of the club and its fans a disservice. "
I am and so are the other posters, are giving their own opinion. In no way should our opinions base the image of our club. If anyone does think that, then they are very narrow minded.
As for character assassination, that's taking it a bit far isn't it?! I just simply implied that he is milking the situation.
You have read post on here from black people who have been racially abused and have agreed with. Surely with their experience, they should have a valid opinion?

SBL, fair points, but I don't really see a contradiction between my own personal opinion and the wider opinions of the many who'll jump at the opportunity to label you "(typical) Chelsea fans". I think I've made it pretty clear that I don't wish to tar everyone with the same brush and have left plenty of scope for what I termed unforunate statements not necessarily reflecting a person's overall attitudes.
All due respect, but I still think it's a pretty unfortunate article. You only need to look at the response it got from non-Chelsea fans.

I really don't care what non Chelsea fans think about our club. there will be those that use this to further justify their already negative view of us and there will be some that realise the problem is not club specific, the others are just sad people that can't think for themselves.
