It looks like Nastasic has been sold.

Not too much in the way of details really, just the following:
" Manchester City defender Matija Nastasic has joined German Bundesliga side Schalke on a four-year deal.
The 21-year-old Serbia international moved to City from Fiorentina in 2012 but was loaned to Schalke in January for the remainder of the season.
Schalke activated a release clause to make the deal permanent and Nastasic said: "I am proud and happy to remain." "

What happened to him? He was outstanding last season.

He wasn't at all fancied by Pellegrini, a shame as i thought he would go onto be an excellent player for us.
He played very well last night against some of the very best.

Didn't they concede 3

He couldn't adapt to Pellegrini's high line, and that was that... Whilst the media went for the blood of Joe Hart, the fact that Nastasic was at the very least, if not more, culpable for goals conceded during that period seemed to slip through the net.
Wish him all the best though, in the right system he will make a decent player.

I wonder what The release clause was worth

Think he was treated shabbilly by the club to be honest, is Boyota better, deserved more of a chance at a time when our Central Defence has been suspect to say the least!!

Monton I don't think he was treated shabbily as he was definitely not as prolific as he was in his 1st season, He was involved in costly mistakes in 3 away games we lost he was having a lot of injury worries to boot. The reason Boyata gets the nod is purely the home grown players we need in the squad. Do you honestly think he would have got a contract otherwise?

Your probably right Edin, perhaps I wanted him to succeed and perhaps would like to give him more time to succeed. Don't expect Boyata to be around next Season, would hope Rekik and Denayor will be give a chance

With (assuming he goes) JM and FL going we need at least 2 more home grown, and if DB is content with the odd CC appearance and emergency substitutions he may stay. If he wants a starter position he would have to move to a lower mid table outfit and presumably take a drop in wages. If we did go for someone in the PL he could be used in the deal.
