Am I the only one thinking that the reason Barnsley have put up their prices is not because we've spent money this season but because our away following has been brilliant thus far. Sold out in our derbies and had a great following in the league cup. We've also taken a lot away to barnsley in seasons past.
All pointing to the fact Barnsley wanting to cash in on us as fans.
Tickets.

That's it. Profiteering at our (the supporters) expense.

I may as well keep the banter going as there is no response from elsewhere. I can't account for every away match but I have attended one or two in recent years. Having saved a match programme from each occasion, coupled with a ticket stub bearing the cost at the turnstile, they all seem to have been expensive.
I went to Gillingham in September 2004 for a midweek match and the cost was £22. That entitled me to a seat in the Priestfield Road end which, without a roof, was (and probably still is) at the mercy of the gods. The weather forecast was not favourable so I duly threw caution to the wind and wore a rainproof top. At the ground they were handing out kagools to the Leicester fans but soon realised there weren't enough to go around and the subsequent heavy rain left many soaked through.
I noted that the home fans enjoyed at least an element of cover, but for us (and there were many hundreds) it wasn't such a memorable night apart from the win. The end occupied by Leicester fans was pretty much full and I wonder if they cashed in on this knowing how many would be coming.

They say they're charging us this because it's a premium fixture; they also say that there are many premium fixtures through the season. How they determine what a premium fixture is, I don't know. Apart from local derbies, how many 'big' games are there in the Championship? Let's face it - it's not like drawing Man Utd in the FA Cup or anything.
So yes, there may be something in that.
