Team vs. Man Utd

I expect something like this:

-----------------------Szczesny-----------------------
--Jenkinson--Djourou--Vermaelen--Sagna--
-----------------------Koscielny-----------------------
-------------Ramsey----------Rosicky--------------
-Walcott-------------v.Persie-----------Arshavin-

Subs: Fabianski, Miquel, Traore, Lansbury, Chamberlain, Miyaichi, Chamakh

Not really much choice as I see it. Not a very strong line-up, but with Gerinho, Song and Frimpong suspended, there's not really very much choice. We might see Koscielny in the CB position with Djourou in DM as he has played there before, but Wenger will pick the one who has trained there the past few days.

Another option would be to play Lansbury in a three man-midfield, but that doesn't make much sense as then we lose an attacking option for later on in the game. Or we could play Lansbury instead of Rosicky and then be able to bring him on later on, but I don't think Wenger will do that either.

If we go behind and need some extra attacking power, we are pretty much screwed, as only Chamakh has premier league experience, even if he hasn't played well for ages. Miyaichi and Chamberlain are both very fast, and Lansbury tries VERY hard, but they do not have the experience and might find it difficult to make cameo's against Man Utd.

With this team, we may be pretty strong defensively, but attacking we lack options off the bench. I expect us to try our usual game, but it will only work if our five primary attackers (van Persie, Walcott, Arshavin, Ramsey and Rosicky) have good game and the defense is solid the whole way through.

Prediction: Man Utd 2 - 1 Arsenal
Rooney 37'
Welbeck 58'
van Persie 83'

you obviously are uninformed as of the brilliance of Thomas Vermaelen. Let me inform you: If you think Cahill is good, then Vermaelen is god.

Let me inform you.

An old but true cliche: " a defence is only as good as it's weakest player"

hardly. Djourou had some very good games last season, and he might play in the DM position anyways. Koscielny, unless u are utterly deluded like many "football" experts, is a VERY good defender. the only one to have kept Messi quiet at a match in recent years.

Kept Messi quiet? He scored 2 and assisted 1 in 2 games.

talking about the first game, where messi didn't do that much through the whole game compared to usual if you watched the match.

Koscielny DM? He is the least likely of the 3 CBs named to play in midfield.

Can Joel Campbell play?

May as well chuck in Franny Coquelin.

Last season he had the "world class" Eden Hazard in his pocket for 80 minutes when Lorient faced Lille, so Wayne Rooney and Tom Cleverley should be no problem!

Well he scored 1 which was dubiously ruled out, set up Villa for their goal and could have had about 5 if it wasn't for unusually bad finishing. Hardly kept him quiet.
