another home game today against the high flying saints. the start that they have experienced is what many foxes fans hoped for ourselves. this hasnt been the case.
i am worried about this game to be honest with the goals that they have been scoring and the fact that our defence has looked shakey to say the least.
im hoping that today we may get to see a glimpse of what we were hoping for and see a performance to smile about.
the striker saga is still on going and only a few days of the transfer window open. i know we can stil loan players in after the deadling has shut but to be honest i hoped we would have had a striker in by now. names have been thrown around about who we are "linked" with. there are quality players out there that havent been mentioned that we may be able to get. delfouneso on loan from villa as an example. i was impressed with jamie mackie at qpr last season before his leg break and wouldnt mind getting him in on loan.
marvin emnes from boro is in form at the moment so we could test them with a cheeky bid.
as many supporters i still think we need to be playing 2 up top with natural wingers to give us more balance
any way back to today, me head is saying we will be lucky to scrape a draw but my heart is saying everything will click and we will win 2-0.(hope its the latter)

what to expect today?????

This is indeed A Big One. If we are to be the serious contenders everyone is expecting, its the kind of game we have to either win or at the very least draw, and not flukily in either case. The same was the true of the Reading game, and we blew that one spectacularly. Time to make serious amends.
I think we can do it, if we play as we did during the first half at Forest, and do not panic or fall back if and when ship a goal (more when than if, given the opposition). We need everyone on top of their game; really good, driving leadership from such as Wellens, Mills and Schmeichel; and commonsense all round, so that we finish with as many players as started.
I am going for us to win 2-1, and for this to kick-start our season.

the performance at forest in the first half was quite pleasing however i though we died off when we took nugent off. the biggest mistake i think that cost us last week was taking off danns when schmeical got sent off. he was the only real attacking threat we had, he was causing them no end of problems with his forward runs. when he went off they became more attacking and we couldnt cope. ifs and buts but if the ineffective gallagher had been replaced then it might have been 3 points instead of one.
anyway history cant be changed.. 3 points today and forest will be forgotten. 42 games to go, our season isnt ruined..................yet

What to expect? I don't often give a prediction but I will go for Leicester 2 Southampton 1.

jamie, I agree that Danns looks good when he runs at defences, strong and fast. He could turn out to be one of the best of the new boys.

We need to start playing well now. Coming off the back of a good performance away from home we should be getting into our stride now.
Southampton are obviously a good side and we'll need to be on top of our game to beat them. No more excuses about gelling etc, we need to get in gear and start winning.

Well Emilio you got your wish. As they say a win is a win. Great first half, great to hang on for the win in the second half. Hopefully this will drive them onto better things for the rest of the season.
