Lukaku

It's coming to the time where in the next 2/3 transfer windows we need to look to replace a couple of our strikers.

I'm putting the case forward for Lukaku. He's been around for a while but it's very easy to forget he's still only 21. He's scored 40 Premier league goals. Wayne Rooney had scored 49 PL goals by the same age but had played 42 more matches.

In addition to the 40 Premier league goals he's scored another 59 career goals for club and country - by the age of 21. So 99 career goals at that age.

He's pacey, direct and incredibly strong. He's scored a hattrick against us, scores goals in the Europa league (7 this season) and scores goals against the big sides in the PL.

He's not the finished product and he does make some bad misses but again, he's 21. He will improve. Anyone else think he's an option in a season or two? I don't think he's far off the level required at United. Just maybe one more season at Everton.

There should be a buyer beware caveat with a lot of serie a signings. How many have been successes in the past few seasons? Seems to be a league where the older players go to retire. Which is funny because 10-15 years the PL was where the older serie a players went to retire.

Again this is a nonsense misconception about Serie A, it's actually a league where there are some of the brightest young talents in Europe, of course there are older players in Serie A, but they don't come from all over just for an easy ride, The older players in Serie a have been there all their career like Pirlo, Luca Toni, Toto Di Natale etc

no to lukaku

what we need is a fast sharpshooter and with this let Rooney drop to the #10 role.

I like Lacazette, he makes fantastic runs, and has pace to burn. He reminds me a little of Henry, he's elusive and moves into the channels and out wide very well, although I actually rate his team mate Fekir as potentially the better player, he's got a wonderful intelligence on the pitch

Fekir reminds me of a more prolific Silva, but Lacazette has a grace about him, great dribbling ability, good finisher. Has all the tools to be a world class striker.

Reminds me more of Nasri on Youtube videos alone. He's from Algeria though....the new Zizou?

To be honest, like 99% of people I don't have time to watch football from the continent, unless it's a big game.

I see the Nasri comparisons. I have a lot of time on my hands admittedly

Would United be prepared to Spend 30million plus on Lukaku is the question really as he would only be sold on for a profit................

I actually wouldn't have a problem with lukaku over some of the others mentioned but it would depend on how we want to play.

Too often random good players get mentioned as what we need but its how they would fit.

Best example is mata at Chelsea. Great player but can see why he was sold

Benteke when not injured and fit is everything I hoped Lukaku would be when we signed him. I hope we sign Benteke this summer.
