Nintendo have made 2 major announcements this week
The 1st announcement concerns a new partnership with Japanese mobile gaming company DeNA. This new partnership will see Nintendo IP be brought over to Smartphones and Tablets. This was hinted at being new games rather than remakes and ports of old Nintendo games.
The 2nd announcement concerned the NX the next home console to be developed from Nintendo and hopefully pick up from the disappointing Wii U console (My most used console currently).
Further details on this won't be released until next year so will be looking at 2017 or 2018 for earliest release dates.
What do you guys make of these announcements? Which Nintendo IP would you love to see on your smartphone? What do you think Nintendo should do with the NX?

Was thinking about getting a wii u (have a xb1) as something different. They are the only ones trying something different (ps4 and xb1 are basically the same). Have a feeling of the next console is a flop it could be a long time before we'll see them with another console (if ever).

Arsenes - I get more play out of my Wii U than my Xbone. The console lends itself very well to local multiplayer, something most AAA game devs now neglect entirely.
Smash Bros, Mario Kart, Nintendo land and Mario bros. are all great multiplayer games.
ZombiU showed some great functionality of the Wii U controller, making you look at this screen whilst in game was looking in their backpacks created a huge amount of tension not knowing if you were about to be attacked.
The lack of 3rd party games can be annoying sometimes but I can get all of them on my Xbone if needed.
But then I think there was more great games released last year on the Wii U than on either the PS4 or Xbone.

I love local multiplayer and it's true that the other consoles have moved on from it for some reason. It's the main reason I was thinking about getting the wii u. I'm an old school gamer (nes with mario my first console/game) and most of my best gaming experiences have been local split screen. It's such a differrent gaming experience to the other consoles it's a shame it's struggling.

There's a buzz from Local multiplayer that isn't there for me online.
Being able to see my friends face when I screw them over.

It's lack of games is a real killer. Shame as it really has potential but so much economically viable for developers coming up multi platform games rather than games soly for the wii u.
