We need to be realistic about England

The list of midfielders announced for the upcoming game against Lithuania is shocking:
Ross Barkley (Everton), Michael Carrick (Man United), Fabian Delph (Aston Villa), Jordan Henderson (Liverpool), Adam Lallana (Liverpool), James Milner (Man City), Raheem Sterling (Liverpool), Andros Townsend (Tottenham ), Theo Walcott (Arsenal)

I can name 3 Arsenal midfielders that would walk into the England team and some of them are not even guaranteed starters. How do you control games with that set of players?

There is potential in the likes of Barkley and Sterling but they are still too inconsistent to lead this England team. Our best Center back is Cahill who has his issues and the captain is a striker who doesn't always perform for the national team.

Of the entire squad our most consistent players are Hart, Clyne and Cahill.
I hope Carrick gets a chance because despite his age he is the only one who can at least help England control games. Henderson is an obvious pick. I also like Lallana. A gifted player who I actually think should be given a fair crack in the hole behind the striker.

This squad is well behind the top teams though, top 15 at best. Can't see them win any major trophies anytime soon.
