Well it was Chelsea and Hull. Chelsea is top of the EPL, no?
So, I think the comparison was appropriate.

Well, your comparison was between Real vs Barca and Chelsea vs Hull. Not quite a fair comparison.
It would be like me saying Chelsea vs City and comparing that to Barca vs Cordoba.

Why hasn't anyone picked up the woeful keeping by Casillas for Suarez's goal?
Not the first time he has dived to the wrong side when confronted with a shot from close range either, remember the NED game at the World Cup, at least a couple he could have kept out.

Led, I know your thing for Barça, Madrid hatred and all that, but I also know you've got a taste for football.
From that point of view, Modric's a delightful player to watch, whoever he plays for. Loosen up a bit and enjoy it.
On Modders, this might sound nuts, but as a Madrid fan, if I had to choose between one of Modric or Ronaldo in the starting line-up, I'd rather see CR sidelined. That's how important he is for our game. No surprise our slump coincided with the time he was out, no surprise the big upturn in our football since he's been back.
Still hopeful for the league, 4 points with the games that are still left to play are not that much, even considering Barça's form of recent months. If we get Modric back to full (90-minute) match fitness, I doubt we'll drop many points ourselves from here until the end. For now, Barça can still only afford themselves 1 slip up.
March, yeah, he tried to anticipate the shot, but there's no way Casillas' was saving that imo. Conversely, he made a few saves in the last half hour that preserved the h2h for us and, who knows, might just tip the scales come the end of the season.

Modric is absolutely top class. He was brilliant in that first half but it seems his period out through injury caught up with him in the second half.
Madrid fans have done a massive U-turn after realizing what he contributes to the team, since the days of the Marca poll where he was voted the worst signing of the season

Made some good stops, Iker, I agree with that IOAG.
But why anticipate like that? One of my pet peeves about keeping i think. I think a keeper should stand his ground.

hello march
yes i agree he moved to early for suarez's goal
on his form of the last few seasons, there is no way iker should be madrid's number 1 keeper
i felt v sorry for diego lopez, and now feel the same for navas

March, I wouldn't take anything away from Suárez tbh. If there's one single aspect that's stood out in Casillas' game down the years, it's precisely these one-on-one situations, and I'd presume that a lot of it has to do with studying a strikers' preferred finishes. From the replays it looked to me as if Casillas had left more room than normal open at the near post to invite Suárez's shot there. I just think Suarez outwitted him that time, so fair play to him.

I have got a taste for football. However I want anyone that plays/manages or is associated with Real Madrid to fail, regardless of who they used to play for. So if the earlier implication by another poster about me being "one of them" is an assumption that I don't like players leaving Spurs etc then he's sorely mistaken.

Fair enough, each to his own.
