Are we that unlucky?

14 points from 23 games does not look like bad luck, but when you are the bottom not many things go your way or seem too.
One thing we can all agree on is the standard of Ref's this season has the been the worst i remember and i am a great supporter of them in general.
We would reduce the calls for tech support if they wore glasses or more importantly players stopped trying to cheat.
If there is Tech introduced its got to be for the officials to call into action not manager or players refer otherwise it will become another tool in the cheats armoury and as in Cricket stop the Officials making a decision rather than look stupid. My other quid pro quo for that is Ref's are miked up that will shut up the mouthy footballers and allow us to understand what the decision for.

A good debate yesterday on do we have any hope of staying up i feel that the results that go for us without us getting a point on the board just prolong the agony do you agree ?

Over the course of the season we have just not been quite good enough.

How many dodgy penalties did we get last season? Mahrez vs Donny was one, I'm sure there were more as we scored no end of penalties. In the Championship, we're a fairly big sized fish in an average pond. Therefore, we tended to get the benefit of the doubt on dubious decisions.

In the PL, however, we are a smallish fish in a massive ocean. Decisions that are 50/50 will, more often than not, go against us and in favour of the big club. Not saying this is right, but that's how things seem to be, and why big clubs do get the rub of the green against the smaller clubs.

Yes, we have been hard-done by in some matches this season, but was anyone complaining when we were getting the decisions in our favour last year? Of course not.

TLG - exactly my feelings, I don't think there is much in it. Which makes it l the more irritating, because with a little more quality at both ends of the pitch, we could well be comfortably safe and not at all worried about the occasional bit of bad luck.

I wonder where we would be in the table if such technology was in use this season.
..........................................................................
Roughly about the same as the 'new' technology would apply equally to all teams and their own 'dodgy' decisions, or are you assuming the new technology would only apply to Leicester?

Decisions and luck haven't gone our way on numerous occasions but there have been more games whereby we just haven't been good enough.

Beat Hull, Palace, Sunderland and WBA at home and a dodgy pen at Man City and Spurs wouldn't matter as much.

This is the problem for the rest of the season, we need everything to go our way now to even have a chance of a miracle.

Foxello - we did get a lot of penalties last season, but most of these were the result of the opposition hacking down Jamie Vardy after being driven to distraction by him. I remember reviewing them half way through the season and coming to the conclusion that all but one were correct decisions and the other one was still debatable. (I can't remember which one, but I remember my conclusion.)

This was before the Doncaster decision of course, which was the only howler I can remember in our favour. It came at a time when we didn't need it but it cost Doncaster dearly. But such is life in the refereeing world, it seems.

I think we have been unlucky on some occasions but when luck has gone our way we just haven't taken advantage - case in point being the Hull match when Jelavic misses an open goal from five yards out and Huddlestone gets sent off but we still only drew.

I guess the problem is that coming from the Championship we don't know the different rules used in the PL.

Someone should have told Morgan that you can't lie on the floor and head the ball as he did against Liverpool.

RL gave a list of poor decisions given against us this season, I wonder how many points they potentially add up to ?

TB according to RL none? Last night there where five examples none of whichactually lost us the games we have lost 18 games this season that's a lot of poor ref's descisions.
Take the Tot's game based only on the highlights spurs where lucky not to have four in the first half. The Ref booked a Spurs player for diving while Vardy did not get booked for a a triple sulka with a half pike to finish when their keeper got injured.

Poor defending as ever was our downfall and you said without Kasper we would not of got the third i beg to differ even though i am an antique i can kick a dead ball into the centre circle from my area.
most contentious of all i can see why the ref gave a penalty. from his position and the replay it was obvious that Nug was losing his man so he lent on him to stop him in the old days almost a shoulder barge. if it had been Vardy at the other end we would of been screaming blue murder for it?

Refs are poor this season but poor for everyone we just feel it more at the bottom.
