Kane over Welbeck

I know Danny Welbeck has done pretty well for England when called upon but apart from that there is no justification for Welbeck to start upfront with Rooney over Kane.

If I am honest I don't think there are many more undeserving players to play for England as much as Welbeck has without producing any real consistent form. I think he has about 4 Premier League goals this season, when Man U last won a title he featured quite a lot yet only scored 2 Premier League goals.

How does this player con a career as a professional striker. Basically you know when your main attributes are "He works Hard" "He is industrious" and your a striker that you are awful.

Welbeck should NEVER be ahead of Kane for anything.

TBH these days I'd be happy just to make it through the group stages....

Low expectations = happiness!

We have a lot of good youngsters coming up, so if they were to get opportunities at the top level then 2020 would be a good bet for us to have a very good tournament.

Harder to be knocked out in the groups than get through these days.

Yeah, thinking on it, more teams and we are likely to be seeded.... I'll settle for glorious failure in the quarters like the good ol' days...

So much nonsense here. Rooney been s hit for England? Yet Rooney will go on to be the break the record for most goals in a England shirt. Tottenham fans are utterly clueless.

As for Kane. The guy is plain rubbish. Will be found out next season for sure there is nothing special about this fraud.

Larry - says a lot about the quality of the league if a rubbish guy is the top scorer of it me thinks.

Kane - can't not play him, hottest striker in the league right now, can hold-up, link, finish, drive at defences, pull wide. Kid is playing out of his skin.

Rooney - still deserving of a place, up front in a diamond or '10' role in 4231

Welbeck - nowhere near a striker role, but decent coming in off the left for England against weaker teams.

Sturridge - quality striker, but Roy has no idea how to set up to give him service and Sturridge needs support/runners/decoys to be successful

Welbeck isn't a very good footballer, from an Arsenal fan

I've heard this from a few rival fans over the past couple of weeks or so and whilst it may be true, why are Premiership clubs too thick to put off finding a way to stop him until the following season?

I just cannot imagine Mourinho telling his players to mark Eriksen, stop Townsend, but he'll think of a plan to stop Kane by the 2015-2016 season.

It’s unlikely Kane will replicate this season but I don’t accept the point that clubs will all of a sudden think "Oh I suppose we better try to stop that Kane bloke scoring".

I don't think it will be a case of him being 'found out', more of a question of if he can regain his momentum after the summer break, and also how he reacts to a dry spell. These are the things that tend to prove the difference between an inform player and a genuinely great player.

You could easily list a host of players who have had a long run of good form over a season but not repeated it. But that doesn't mean Kane will go the same way, only time will tell there.
