The irony is that he and the other two middle-aged adolescents will now de-camp to the private sector, where they won’t be allowed to behave in the same way. In the private sector, it is sponsors and advertisers who hold sway, so they’ll need to be much more careful about slagging off a brand of car, and they’ll need to steer away from controversy.

Big businesses are amoral: they do not give a feck what is wrong or right, they just want to be nowhere near any controversy which might get in the way of them selling their product.

For all the BBC’s faults, it allows some leeway for alternative viewpoints, and while I do not understand the appeal of what to me looked like a children’s programme, I am a big fan of the environment in which they were allowed to make it.

Whatever he and his two homeys do in the private sector will necessarily be more bland.

To repeat my unanswered Q of last night.

Would anyone who mourns his passing ever change their mind?

If the target of his assault was themselves or a loved one?

As the anti assault public service poster says:

''Would you want to go to your work and be assaulted?''

I'm not usually stuck for words.

But my command of language is insufficient to fully express the utter

contempt that I hold for this racist puffed up blaggard whose wages I paid.

He thought he was untouchable.

He is now better educated.
