Ryan Mason marked his international debut with an assist on Tuesday, which means he’s now done as much for England in 15 minutes as Jack Wilshere has in 26 games.
Despite playing 1502 minutes of international football – more than 100x the amount that Mason has – Wilshere is now level with his Spurs counterpart on one assist.
The remarkable comparison came to light after Mason came off the bench to set up Andros Townsend for his equaliser against Italy, with Wilshere only registering his first assist in England’s recent friendly clash with Scotland.
And with Wilshere only just finding his feet following injury, just imagine how ahead Mason will be if he plays a full 90 minutes…
