The Bigger Picture....

we may not go up this season, but we have 6 (winnable games to get ourselves in playoffs so all is not lost).

But- we will be competing for top 6 minimum in the next few years and here is why:

1- SAM RUSH

2- Multiple owners with stake in the club, so we dont rely on one rich wazzhead- so if someone decided they cannot be bothered we arent screwed. Infact, we are such a well ran club, we attract more millionaires like M.Moris

3- No one will get steve until he proves himself by getting us promoted. If anyone thinks he willl go to newcastle, my balls need nuzzling so eat them

4- Great Academy- Hanson and calero to emerge next year? Vernam?

5- Martin, hughes and hendrick on 3 year contracts, so we will get paid good money for them, can plough it back into the team

So wether we like it or not, we will competing at top end of CC until we go up.We are a stable, well ran club. Not like wigan, no great debt, so my balls need nuzzling by whoever thinks that rams will "revert back to mid-table CC football"

Problems:

We need a DM, RB and a CB

Keogh is decent, but not captain material. Him having the captain responsibility taken away from him will make him a better CB

Christie seems to take too long to think. Great talent, but I dont think that can be coached. Positioning can, which is why forsyth has improved vastly over the last 2 years. Just my opinion though

Thorne- well we threw away 2 million at him. No ones fault though. Just unlucky, wazz happens in life.

For foooks sake!!

We have gone from mid-table mediocrity to play-off final last season and play-off position again this. I share everyone's disappointment that we've wasted numerous chances in the last two months to get a stranglehold on this division. It hurts when we could, should, be so close to securing promotion. I get it. But think of where we've come from.

Derby is a club heading in the right direction. Strong management. Well financed. A proper conveyor belt of talent from the academy and development squad. Good players on long term contracts. Challenging for promotion these last two seasons.

The sky in not about to fall in because we've gone on a bad run late in the season.

Iwas a couple of my mates were sitting just behind the press, one of them got told by a member of the press that Sam Rush had told him. It's just what I heard, don't shoot the messanger.

Doubt Sam would tell one press Mac's going nowhere but tell another that Laudrup will be his replacement!

If we don't go up and Mac leaves his reign will go down as an enjoyable ride, but a failure - he's had all the budget it should have needed for a coach of his quality.
