Those are traditionally the 2 teams we struggle against. If we were to win either game which one would represent the most significant progress? I know we beat United in the cup but they were mess.Even then a different ref that day could have awarded them at least one penalty resulting in a replay.
Chelsea will come for a draw and hope to nick the 3 points against the run of play while United would want to exact revenge and win the game outright. The United game will be tougher as it will be away and are in better form than chelsea but for some odd reason I'm not convinced the United defence can stop us from scoring. They will obviously score and so will we.
Against chelsea they will let us have the ball in front of their defence, lull us into a false sense of security and then hit us on the counter or via a setpiece.
I think another win at old trafford will represent significant progress and set us up nicely for next season. A win against chelsea will be nice but it's not like they always beat us at home. They only come for their customary point which they will probably get.
United for me.
Chelsea or United?

That includes his times at other clubs as well though, the Ferguson one.

I was surprised as Fergie has only one win against Jose when he was chelsea manager.
Wengers record against Mourinho makes terrible reading though. Made worse considering our longest unbeaten run in the premiership against the top teams is against Chelsea. I believe they went 18 games without a win against us losing 70% of the games.
But for all those wins I would trade them at the drop of the hat if it meant we could win that champions league quarter final that Wayne bridge scored in.
That arsenal side could have won the champions league if we had progressed further.

how neither of us won it that year is incredible. Think monaco v porto was the final. but then if we had won it we may of never got mourinho.

Strange a few people mentioning form.
last 10 games
Arsenal 27 points
MU 25 points
Chelsea 24 points
I believe. Nothing drastic between the teams.

I think Nick all the big guns went out early in the 2004 Champions League. Just one of those years.

It has to be Chelsea for me.
The law of averages says Arsene will eventually get the better of Jose
And just like that Champs lge exit when Bridge scored, it'll happen when Chelsea least expect it, it'll be an important game and it'll hurt like hell

well we went out in the semis so not exactly early
And Hunting I doubt it will be that important as the league is near enough wrapped up

Chelsea are the best team in the PL and Mourinho has owned Wenger for the best part of a decade so beating them would represent better progress for me. I would take 2 points from those games if they were offered to me now though.

Arsenal went out in the quarters Nick in 2004, Chelsea in the semis to Monaco. The last 4 was Monaco, Chelsea, Deportivo and Porto.

oh so you werent including chelsea as a "big gun" then my bad. Get ya now. I've always wondered what would of happened if we'd won it then. we were bossing the game at monaco then ranieri had an absolute meltdown(think he took of makelele and stuff) and then the home leg was a mare too.
Imagine we won it and never got mourinho
