out of steam, where does everybody want Spurs to finish this season. In a Europa spot? or outside a Europa spot?
I want Spurs in Europe next season, but the team need to up their game and stop thinking they are already on holiday. Need a bit of effort from now until the end of the season, even though Top Four is over. They owe it to the fans after the last two turgid performances at United and Burnley.
With the team looking like running

The Europa is a purgatory for clubs like us.

Trouble is Galv, it is not like it is temporary damnation for Spurs but ever bleedin' lasting it seems. I'd still prefer to be in it - not like the one game a week has done us any good eh?!?

Can't fault the logic Galv. Playing second stringers might convince Uefa to sort it out once and for all and make it less tiresome and time consuming but I wouldn't hold my breath as it really does seem that despite all the claims of the governing bodies, the mandate for Uefa and Fifa isn't to promote a healthy game but a healthy profit. I keep forgetting…

The EL is an excellent platform to bring youngsters through (i.e. Kane), rotate, and give players confidence for league games - so 100% I want to finish 5th as a minimum.

If Spurs are not going to take the Europ League seriously and play near first XI teams, and make a real go for the trophy, then I would sooner they just withdrew before the tournament kicks off. Pointless exercise otherwise.

Not at all.
I expect the club to be totally cynical on the group stages.
The KO stages are where you have to be serious or ditch.

Didn`t Harry play crap teams one year in the Europa, and Spurs never even got out of the group which included teams like PAOK and Shamrock I think, absolute fecking joke. As I said if Spurs are not going to take it seriously from the off, then I would sooner they just withdrew.

The EL :
- offers 6-8 games for the manager to try players out.
- keeps the UEFA points tally ticking over.
- brings in a bit of money (spend on the Academy, the tea lady etc) .
Not to qualify at all, given recent Spurs squads, is as you say an absolute joke.

I think you know my answer to this question Sandy. Rather than us go back and forth on this, let's just agree to disagree?

I want us to qualify for the Europa, as Bill Nick once said `we are nothing if we are not in Europe`, but I want us to manage it better, our reserves should be good enough to advance through the group stage, once we are in the KO stage then look at playing our strongest team and go all out to win it, a trophy and a CL place is not to be sniffed at.
