Rubbish as bad as RVP was with injuries he still managed to play 20+ games per season with us despite missing months at a time.

We only named about 20 players this season, u21 players don't count so we have spare squad places. I'd keep Diaby on pay as you play and make him part time mental strength coach, and then wait for that one injury season where we dominate Europe.

That's 21 spots so far and that is assuming Joel, Podolski, Jenko and Ryo don't come back, and that Flamini leaves. Also assuming we don't have to register Ox because he isn't 22 until August so I think we don't have to? But might be wrong there. And obviously also assuming Diaby is gone, too.

So there isn't really any room for him unless we are not planning to bring anyone in this Summer. I can see us signings 1 midfielder, one forward and one defender so there is no room for Diaby under any circumstances.
