Morning Gooners,
Just wondering who you would want as our captain next season?
I'd be happy to see Francis Coquelin get the armband, but reckon Wilshere more likely
Captain next season?

You don't just change the captain every season lol.

Someone who plays all the time, although its been a bit of a jinx in recent memory.
Mertsacker will probably get it and then be dropped!!
I'd like to see Ramsey get it, as he's a player when the games are tight who the team will look to, to do something special or lead by example on how to run your behind off

Don't see what's so funny about Coq suggestions.
He's shown immense maturity and leadership since emerging,.also has superb desire.
Sentimentally I want Jack to get it someday, especially over Ramsey who's admitted he may leave one day, Jack is Mr. Arsenal

Jack would sell us out before Rambo and if ya think different, ya crazy.

The player with the longest tenure at the club.

That's Diaby

Meant to say starting player with the longest tenure.

Guess it will stay with Arteta for next season but beyond that I think Ramsey is a good shout, both in terms of a prediction being the right man for the job.

Highly doubt Wenger would even consider Wilshere after several demonstrations of unprofessionalism from the guy. Wouldn't want him as our captain to be honest.

Of all our players Coquelin plays the most like a captain. He's not ready for captaincy yet and giving it to him could hamper his final development
But assuming he continues playing as he has, I think it'll be difficult to not name him at least VC when Arteta goes.
For now though, if the captaincy changes (which I doubt with Arteta staying) then I don't see the point in Merte and much as Kos is a good defender, I don't see the 'leadership' in him. So that's realistically, Walcott, Ramsey or Cazorla. Of the 3 it's Rambo that'd get my vote.

Kos with Coq vice captain, Coq is our most natural leader but a bit too soon to make him captain already. AW will probably keep Arteta as captain even though he's not a starter but as long as Mert doesn't wear the armband I'll be happy

Nah think Arsene will find a space for Jack and it will eventually click, he's too talented to be a permanent liability also although his issues in the past have a say I still think he has leadership qualities.
Similar to Rooney who has surprisingly impressed me as captain for club and country with all his notorious history.
Jack just needs a strong full season to regain the desire and commitment we all know he possesses from then I think his leadership will come, Rambo can be quite a selfish player when off form I don't think he'd be a great candidate also dunno who said the team look to him in tough situations.
He is, hit and miss at important moments he either produces the spectacular (Hull) or is feckin woeful as in Flamini level (Spurs, City)
