All three clubs that knocked out

English clubs in the last round of the CL where themselves beaten with a bit to spare in the first legs of their ties in the QF. What does this say about the prem? Despite the money, drifting further behind their European Counterparts.

PSG did have key injuries. Zlatan, Veratti and Thiago Motta (the 2 most missed) and Thiago Silva were huge absences.

Barca had a front 3 of Neymar, Suarez and Messi last night.

Until the PL can attract (and keep) players of this quality we will always be behind in Europe, no matter how much money is thrown at it.

You seem to have some agenda against the Prem, Sandy?

Sandy had long been a firm advocate of the PL, but he's seen the light and is trying to spread the word.

Good on you, Sandy.

WTF. Because I dare to compare the prem to other leagues around Europe. I don`t live in dream worlds like you lot that the Prem is the Utopa of football, it aint.

Sheriff John Brown - bring back David Dein

Barca who knocked out City beat PSG like everyone expected. Monaco lost 1-0. Hardly with a "bit to spare". Drooling ret.ard.

Juventus did what Arsenal could only dream of beat Monaco at home.

Your another clown that clings to the hope that the prem is good, when it clearly is not in the grand scheme of things. The billions thrown at the prem should be putting the prem way way clear of any opposition. Second rate league now, and going backwards year on year. Little above the Dutch League. Arsenal are signing Spanish rejects and still cannot rise much above the mediocre in a poor league.

I have always hated the premiership since it started, stop spreading porkies. All the best players I have seen were around long before the prem was even thought of. The modern game doesn`t have a lot going for it, other than the money.

Interesting thing when you talk to people who don't understand what the old-time greats needed to rise above is to point out how well the more disruptive teams like Atletico or Chelsea are doing, and how the current greats struggle against them.

Imagine if these sides were allowed to go by the rulebook of old, i.e. if they were able to fell your Messis or Ronaldos 20 times a game and still be pretty much nailed on to finish the match with 11 men.

Barcelona winning 3-1 is them losing with a bit to spare?

Oh dear Sandy, you have really exceeded expectations with this one.

Still awaiting answers as to why three English clubs were gubbed in the previous round to clubs that are getting gubbed in this round. The natural order of things is returning to European football, English teams down the pecking order again.

Your idea of getting 'gubbed' is to win 3-1?
