Sven did a good job for us. He put together a team in about 10 minutes flat based on the dire legacy Stuart Pearce left behind. What he spent was peanuts in comparison to what's come since. He was torpedoed by Frank long before the end of that season. In fact we seem to making a habit of it - undermining the manager before the end of the season. The debacle at the end of the season was because the players knew the manager was out, and probably half of them with him.

Many of whom who were also laid into by her majesty's finest that day...

it probably wasn't a comfort for the fans but since when have they been considered in the self centered world that is football.

Monton I seem to remember Sun and Ned were both injured and we had no back up. Elano played there because he was needed. A far cry from the rumours and lies spread by Hughes about being a disruptive ellement. Without him being brought back into the team Hughes would have had us relegated.

To be fair I agree, I loved Elano, we haven't seemed to have learnt from the mistakes made from previous management teams, my son actually said to me the other day he wished Gary Cooke was still in charge!!

Gary Cooke is a name popping up more and more when discussing city with blues at the moment... Very mixed response tho!
