Not again ...

It would seem that Daniel Sturridge is out, yet again, with injury. He's had really bad luck all season, gets himself back then, bang, injured again. What it does show is that, though no fault of his own, he cannot be relied on. That can only mean that he drops down the pecking order (I struggle to see how "next season" is going to be any better) and that we need another striker to replace him. It's no good hoping, fingers crossed, that he won't get injured again.

I feel really sorry for the lad, no way is he of the 'sick note' variety, but the club needs yet another striker.

Just shows that his problems are not all Roy's fault. His 18 month purple patch could just be that. Shame as on his day he is a top player who brings confidence and belief to the side he is playing for.

18 month purple patch

He's a top striker who isn't fit.

When he gets fit (if), he will be one of the top scorers in the league again.

Even in this disaster season he has 5 goals and 2 assists in 13 games worth of football.

The concern is if he will ever stay fit for any length of time.

Hopefully he will, but either way we need better strikers.

Our top league scorer has 7 goals which is pathetic.

Even you can honestly say his purple patch was that. It was his best run of games and goal return.

He was rested and eased in after his early season injury. Now he has managed just to complete less than a third of a season, quite a worry for him and Liverpool

How else would you describe him Jimmythenumpty?

at least two new proven strikers who fit BR's way of playing....... or we need much more goals from midfield

Yesil scored twice for the 21's tonight.

Still only 20.

If he can have a run he could still be a player for us.

He needs at least a cameo righteous

Serious strikers want serious money, which the owners are not prepared to spend so we have to aim for the likes of Ings, Berahino, Austin, Bolasie (?). Makes me wonder, realistically speaking, how far away are we from Champion's League, let alone Premiership Champions, when our top scorer is on 7 goals??? Sad to say but we won't win anything considerable unless the ball goes in the back of the net. Europa League beckons, which is pants really.

Even if we're regularly in the Europa League and end up in the semi finals - we shall still be able to attract very good players.
