David De Gea has "said yes to Real Madrid," journalist Josep Pedrerol has claimed on Spanish television channel La Sexta.
The Champions League quarter-finalists have long been linked with a move for the 24-year-old, and with his contract ticking down it has been evermore likely that De Gea would leave the Old Trafford club.
And today's reports suggest that, after months of speculation , PFA Player of the Year nominee De Gea has agreed a move to the Bernabeu despite the presence of club legend Iker Casillas.
"David De Gea has said yes to Madrid," it begins.
"The Manchester United goalkeeper wants to wear the white of Real Madrid from next season. The club considered many options for the goalkeeping situation but have decided on De Gea.
"And David De Gea is clear... he wants to be the Real Madrid goalkeeper.
"One of the problems had been the future (or not) of Iker Casillas but this is no longer an impediment to the signing of De Gea.
"Only an agreement between the clubs is lacking."
The report, on afternoon show Jugones, has also claimed that a poor relationship between Louis van gaal and his goalkeeper is one of the principal reasons for the Spaniard opting to up sticks and return to his homeland.
Not sure about this journalist so perhaps anyone who lives in Spain or who knows them can shed some light on the reliability of their comments in the past.
If true, it's a massive shame as the guy is a legend in the making. But if we improve our defence and bring in someone like Cech (younger than VDS was when he joined us and told by Mourinho he can join who he likes) then I can't see us being weakened too much.
DDG and Real.

Good, he would improve you no end.

Valdes will be your number 1 next season. If only for a year or 2. Why else would he have signed?
Cech will go to PSG for a big fee.
Ospina couldn't shine Petr's helmet

Ospina better than Cech? FFS

Cech would be a brilliant signing for any club

Ospina is nowhere near Cechs level. Can't see Jose selling him to a rival though. There's no direct quotes about letting him go wherever he wants.
If Madrid get De Gea and we fail get Cech I'd take Casillas at Arsenal. Would you guys have him at Utd?

I'd love him at United. If DDG goes. There is no-one better who's available right now. Lloris IMO is better but Darth Levy won't let him go.

Doesn't Lloris have a low buyout clause?

Might have made that up

I forget who but supposedly someone is fishing around Lloris. And it's rumoured he wants CL football badly.
but that's just paper talk as far as I know

Those footy chat shows are just light entertainment.
The part where Francois Gallardo does his transfer scoop number is actually quite funny. Don't know how he manages to keep a straight face; you can tell he's struggling sometimes.
