Arteta to get new contract?

http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11095/9810622/mikel-arteta-close-to-agreeing-new-arsenal-deal

Could of swore he already signed an extension. I have a bad feeling Diabolical, Flamini and him will be here next season. Wenger is such a soft touch.

Don't mind Arteta. Something about him you can see he will be successful even after his playing days are over. Flamini should go

It was quite obvious at the beginning of the season that he lost some acceleration. On top of that he has had a very injury chequered record. No I am afraid the position of constantly crocked has already been taken .

I don't mind keeping areteta, same as rosicky both experienced players who can contribute for 15-20 games a season, don't see the harm in keeping them. Definitely think flaminis should go and diaby really. But if we get rid of those 2 and get 1 cm in it could give us a better balance in the centre. Wilshere and Ramsey to fight with cazorla and hopefully a coq/ second dm to fight for the other position gives us a lot of flexibility in the centre.

should defo keep Arteta, great leader and influence on younger players, alongside a younger player he can still be effective on the pitch also

Not sure we'll see it unless it's a defensive sub at the e92nd of a match, but I'd be interested to see Arteta and Coquelin playing together, and providing the attackers with a really solid base.

Flamini's contract expires at the end of this season and there is no new deal. In any event, Flamini always changes clubs for free at the end of his contracts and has never been sold.

Arteta is a solid player.

However, flamini and diaby have to go

Wouldn't be against Diaby on a pay as you play but I'd also consider leaving out of the 25 man PL squad and only using him in cups so he has enough time to recover before the next rounds

Don't see why anyone would have an issue with keeping Arteta in the squad.

Ignorance.

I'm sorry...but I completely disagree with you lot! Quite frankly this is our problem as a club we are'nt ruthless enough! We need to be improving on that position not downgrading it...Look how we have improved by having a young, mobile, athletic DM in the face of Coq, we should be bringing in an equal or indeed better version....not retrogradely keeping Arteta, for what? to be overrun again when he spells Coq...I don't think so!
