LBH the FA cup is not a major trophy

The FA cup is an important trophy but it's not a major trophy. Its the trophy a manager goes for because he doesn't want to get sacked at the end of the year.

Wenger showed just how little the FA cup means to him yesterday when he fielded a rusty Gibbs, Debuchy and Sir Chez. Can you see a manager doing that in the champions league final? Doubt it. If Wenger doesn't respect the FA cup than who are we kidding? Its not a major trophy anymore. Maybe it could be if the League Cup doesn't exist, thus reducing the dilution of trophys that can be won.

I have no idea if you're serious or not, but after the Prem, the next best domestic trophy is the FA cup.
Unless you think the only domestic trophy that matters is the title

He rested players because it was Reading, not because it was the FA Cup

no-one said it was a major trophy, only two that count are your countries title, i.e EPL, La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga & so forth and the Champions League.

It is the oldest and therefore most prestigious trophy in football today. Unfortunately, the monetary value of the competition nowhere near reflects it's history or prestige. Wenger has always valued the competition, hence it's the league cup where you'll see the reserves all the way to the final. Ever notice the FA Cup teams always contain a few starters.
