It's getting to the point where there are too many things that simply don't make sense for there to be a bright future
The move you look at things the less confident I am that we are genuinely moving forward as a team. Clearly the club are doing their bit with the stadium development, commercial deals and the money that has been made available for the squad but the playing side of things seems to be in turmoil
BR seems to have real blind spots with players and the recruitment policy has been utterly woeful with tens of millions wasted on players who will never be good enough
People say we needed to 'flesh' out the squad but all we've actually done is buy a load of rubbish players!
How is Dejan Lovren getting any game time? Who at the club made the final call on a £20 million deal for him? The way that the 'world beater' Fabian Delph left him on his backside on Sunday was indicative of how bad this guy is at actually defending. Flat footed and completely out of his depth. We'd have been much better off giving Wisdom more game time instead of sending him, Ilori and Coates out on loan
Moreno cannot defend which surely must be the first priority for a defender when you buy one. Their attacking threat should be secondary to the basics! How many mistakes can one player make in a season. Again surely one of the youngsters would have been better. Flanno has been injured but surely we have some other options. He even makes Jose seem like a solid defender!
We have Jorden Ibe coming through but someone decides to splash another £20m on Markovic. He'll never achieve his potential in this country. Stevie Wonder could see it!
Allen - I mean how pointless can a midfielder be. Is it one goal a season and no assists....no assists! Ridiculous. He's not a defensive midfielder, he's not offensive. What does he do??? Anyone can pass the ball 10 yards. The suggestion that a team needs a player like that is complete nonsense
Mario - Whoever signed the cheque should be sacked. Again one of the kids would have been a better bet. And Ricky Lambert? Replace Luis with Mario & Ricky with Borini as a back up. Priceless!

We have also been completely messing up the contract situations of key players and we get Luis to sign a new deal and decide its better for the club to sell him to Barcelona whilst bring in Mario. Utterly mind bending as a piece of business. How many times has he missed games this season through 'sickness'? Clearly there is an attitude and application problem, everyone knew it accept us! With Luis having issues it seemed to indicate that BR needed a 'project'
Overall its just mindless and is so poor that how can those earning large salaries possibly justify their existence?
Heads need to roll. This isn't knee jerk, it's just realism. The team has gone backwards. And why can't we pinpoint and sort out Sturridge's fitness once & for all. How can he possibly get so many injuries?
Too many things are wrong and its not getting any better. The team has been achieving the minimum expectation but regularly failing when under pressure. We can't defend properly, we've nullified the offensive capability and complete failed to address the spine of the team properly. BR has an awful lot of work to do to win back any trust

Yeah, my hunch is that Sterling wants out. He's either motivated by his perceived lack of ambition from the club or he wants to return to London. But, IMO, the club needs to do its upmost to persuade him otherwise. We can't afford to carry on losing a top player every summer.
Gambling on potential worked during Arsenal's lean years mostly because they had a master coach in Wenger. I'm not convinced Rodgers has the experience to do the same.

When people mention how our signings have been poor you have to remember that it's not like we haven't been trying to sign top class players. We've been turned down by both Sanchez and Costa recently and sadly we're no longer seen by players as a top tier club and with ffp we can't persuade them with money either. Our current policy is pretty much our only option. Some will be a hit like coutinho but some are always going to fail.

Come on mate all you've done is focused on all the negatives and none of the positives plus writing off a player after one season is not a good idea. BR has shown he can develop players so give the likes of Lallana marko and even lovren another year.
And BR has been a manager for 6 years four in the PL, he just got us into two domestic semi finals on the back of a title challenge last year.
Rafa for example put one title challenge in throughout his they're with a superior squad.
I get what you're saying but do think you're going a bit OTT, if BR goes we are back to square 1 and will have to go though more seasons just like this one while we rebuild.
BR deserves another year with this squad plus a few additions to see what he can do, say we fired him and got someone new in and found ourselves in a similar situation to this in 2-3 years time then what?
It's been a bad season and he's got plenty of stuff wrong especially Sunday but give him next season to see if he can turn it around, we've gone on several runs where we take lots of points, he's shown he can adapt and change it to get results when needed and at our best we can be a very good team.
6 years! He's a mere pup in comparison to he other managers at the top of the league, you can argue that liverpool shouldn't be a club that a young manager cuts their teeth with but that is the reality of our situation at the moment.
Me I hate the quick fire nature of football and just don't see he point in sacking him now, but he's under immense pressure to get the signings right and start well next season.
My hope is with a full pre season, players more comfortable with their surroundings, the whole Gerrard saga behind us and a few new players can lead to a decent start which we can build on.
I'm not having a go OP as you make plenty of valid points but IMO firing him now is a terrible idea and feel he deserves another season to try get back to a level we have seen him get this team to.

Balo hate is ridiculous
never had a good run in the team, it isnt set up to play to his strengths, and he still has a better goal/minute average than raheem.
who has played at the top for us all season, consistently and has the whole team set up in an attempt to supply him and gets massive credit.
he doesnt fit the team playstyle like carrol so should never have been bought.
but i cant help feel brendan should have been less stubborn with mario,
time will tell what FSG will do, personally hope we stick by him, this team doesnt need much work, three top additions will do it, and with gerrard toure and johnsons wages disappearing this season, thats three top wages we can pay out!
also, brendan said we would have made the same signings without the suarez sale, so there should still be a sizeable chunk of money available

Mario also gets a totally unwarranted and regular kicking from the press. Possibly stemming from his outright refusal to speak to The Sun.
