Should choose England for better prospect.

As usual...people are getting carried away. The lads had a couple of decent performances, nothing more and as usual, people are going over the top. Personally, I don't care if he plays for England or Ireland

If he chooses to play for England, that's his decision and good luck to him. He will find it tough to get in that team with players like Ox, Walcott, Berahino, Sterling, etc..all playing in his position (behind a striker).

However, if he chooses to play for Ireland, I want it to be because he wants to and not because he'll play more games or will get more opportunities.

He's represented ROI at every level but obviously it's senior level that really counts.

If he plays for us he will be the central player in our team, will be adored by the fans and could become and irish legend.

If he plays for England he's got a much much better chance of going to a major tournament but how often will he actually play?

What's most annoying is in an interview published over the weekend MON said he thinks the Scotland game would be too big a game for him at his age and that players 10 years older would be nervous, but he just ran the show in a massive game in wembley.

Get the lad capped and make him feel wanted, should he get a cap he will get an amazing reception off the fans and we badly need a player of his quality in the side.

Scott Brown would sort him out, MON is right, best to nuture young talent and not destroy his confidence after 1 game.

Nah only messing but I do think he's ready to come into the irish squad right now, he could be on the mech v Scotland and come on for Wes at some point.

I can't see England capping him in he next couple of years unless he is immense for the rest of the year and starts next season with a bang.

He's already better then most of ROIs technical players like McGeady the sham for example.

I just hope we get him cause once Wes (who has been criminally underused) is finished we've no player in the squad with the ability and guile needed to break teams down.

I hope he chooses Ireland, like McGeady he's served his international time with you and it's only right that he develops through the Irish international set-up. Too many bigger than Villa first-picks in front of him right now for England.

I'm not a big McGeady fan personally think he has a reputation with irish fans that he doesn't deserve but agree with you that if you go through at youth level you should stay with that nation at senior level, plus we badly need to quality players in our squad we've plenty of workhorses but lack real quality.

Barkley seems to be a favorite of Roy for England so I just hope Grelish doesn't get a a chance to go with England in next few months and MON just gets him capped, maybe he could feature for us v England in June!
