MK Dons v ROVERS

Well wasn't that an exciting game on Saturday against Fleetwood ? So much so that the Rovers media staff put together a highlights of the game which lasted 27 seconds. If you haven't seen this, go to you tube and type in Doncaster v Fleetwood.

On the other Forum, VSC ( Viking Chat) they also have a thread for this video, which has gone viral, and, believe it or not there are people who cannot see the funny side of the video, whatever happened to the "only a pub team having a laugh? "

Anyway onto tonight's game, one which is big for the home team, but equally big for us as if we win we could be in 7th position. We know now that there is no chance of the play offs, but those who are paid to perform should be looking at as high a finish as possible.

Rob Jones has said that HE is not going to Milton Keynes to roll over and give the game to the Dons, hopefully the rest of the team will think the same.

From what he has said, Dickov may well give Mitchell Lund another start at full back and Luke McCullough is fit and will I presume be on the bench with Abdul Razak who has been missing in action due to illness. Paul Keegan has been ruled out until next season following his recent operation.

I would take a guess at the team and go like this :

Bywater,

Lund Butler, Jones and Evina

Coppinger, Wellens, Furman and Bennett.

Tyson and Mandeville

Subs

Marosi, Stevens, McCullough, Forrester, Main , Razak and Mackay. P.

I doubt he will include Mackay, but you never know.

Enjoy the game.

By the way, I have noticed that our friend Hound has now surfaced on Viking Chat.

Yeah I'd agree with that Azza. It's been pretty mediocre. Having followed the Rovers for about 50 years I can take mediocre.

I rarely comment during a game, and today I did not listen as I'm out of retirement for a week, and 5000 miles west of most of you, that means I'm working during the game.

I first watched the Rovers when I was 4, and that was over 65 years ago, and this season has been one of the most frustrating. I think we do have a good enough squad to have been in the play-offs if the players play to their potential all the time. Why players can be very good one week and invisible the next I do not know, but I'd point at the manager.

After two seasons, who knows what PD's style or plans are, and this lack of positive focus must rub-off on the players.

Last season in early March we looked safe, and this season we were sixth. Why is PD at his worst at the end of the season? I've been patient with him for too long, maybe because of the two failed take-overs. Now, he just has to go.

Recently, the best manager/player relationship had to be Cotts and Dean. Dean brought him back from the dead, and got him back into the Welsh team. Look what happened when Dean left! - Cotts almost became invisible. At least Cotts is the one who left the sinking ship who is getting regular first team starts.

Despite all this, I'll still be a fan for life next season - but maybe glad I live too far away to attend games!

At least some of us still have a sense of humour - I loved that post with the link to watching paint dry and the modified "highlights".

Just remember, it is just a game!

More and more people now against the Dicked on the rovers Facebook page, I'd say it's probably a three-quarter majority in favour of him going now.

They wont get rid of Dicky Boy. He is a yes man. Suited and booted, he presents a clean cut image. He says the words that the board want to hear. Him and Gavin agreeing on this and that and how good Club Doncaster is. Load of old Boooolooocks give me back my Rovers.
