He's 22-23? Get off his back people. When he's on form he's a gem to have in the team when he's not he does his fair rate of dogged work. He'll still need a couple of years to reach the whole season consistency so just let him be.

Good player ruined by Jose, typical in regards to players with flair bar Hazard.
He will never fulfil his potential with Jose as manager so might as well sell up before he becomes a nothing player.
Coutinho is better also

Sideshow
Yup, that's very true. There's no way we'd be able to recoup anywhere near as much as we paid for him especially considering how little he's played for us.
I agree that he was one of their better players, but international football can be very different to club level football.
Essentially all we can do is wait and see. I'm obviously hoping for the best as I don't want to see any Chelsea player fail. But he has had a very (very) slow start - hopefully his performances will pick up with a full preseason under his belt. My only worry is that even if he does improve I doubt it will be enough for a 1st 11 place in the side. Meaning we'll have two players in Willian and Cuadrado who are good but can be definitely upgraded ( and £56mil would have definitely been enough to nab Reus from Dortmund ).

Sorry JNR but Oscar hasnt done anything in the team for a long while and his place is our no 10, and he has been terrible this season, and it often feels like we are playing with 10 men, even his games in which he had a good defensive performance have been far and few between this season, i would love for him to capture some of his early form, but i got stung waiting for torres, so i dont know what to suggest.

Oscar is a number 10 by trade, that is where he started his career and that is where he displaced Juan Mata, but I feel that it may not be his best position.
I think, he will be best suited to play in the pivot role, alongside Matic and shift Fabregas in a more advanced role. Off course, also he can play as an orthodox winger, like we saw against Utd, but he's been less effective there.
Oscar has been consistent in his defensive duties, but his offensive play needs to improve.
The interesting thing here is that the only area he has improved this season is in terms of his games per goal, which is misleading because of his three goals in two games at the turn of the year. He may well fail to better his eight goals from last year. His chance conversion is also very low and is not better than it was last year. In other areas he is also in decline, such as in chance creation, dribbles per game and tackles. His defensive actions have been consistent throughout his career with an average of two (interceptions, plus clearances plus blocks).
Oscar needs to find another gear and really step up to fulfill his potential at Chelsea. Having been at the club for two and a half years he should now be settled and finding much more consistency, especially as he clearly has talent. Instead too often he goes missing in games which can be incredibly frustrating. It is time for Oscar to step up his game, even if he does provide an important tactical role.
