So I was pondering the "near but so far" results we have had in the cup and recent title challenge, and I thought why do we seem to be at the moment on the cusp of achieving trophies; why have not taken that next step.
There can be many reasons of course (why we came up short) but fundamental in my mind is the age of our players, I read something about Origi where he was praising J Ibe, and that got me thinking both those players are young, (I know he hasnt played for us, but I think the point can stand...about youth).
What about the rest I thought, well:
Coutinho..22yrs
Sturridge..25yrs
Sterling.....20yrs
Sakho.......25yrs
Ibe............20yrs
Origi.........20yrs
Moreno....22yrs
Can...........21yrs
Flanagan..22yrs
Markovic..21yrs
Henderson..24yrs
Allen...........25yrs
Apart from skrtel(30), lucas (28) and a few others the actual team we send out on the Saturday is extremely young. When you add in BR who is a young manager esp in the premier league then maybe this might explain the failures so far. As the title suggests, we may have to wait until either theย team is supplemented by more experienced players or until the team matures in the next couple of years.
Im not too crtical of the team because I understand they as a whole are learning about the pressures of competing atbthe highest level and may need this season and next pre-season until we can truly judge BR and the team properly.
We may just have to wait.

Its not a competition mate, its about the lfc squad and the possible reasons why we are so near yet ultimately fall just short at the moment.

So, it's Rodgers fault?

You fell short GB because your manager and players aren't good enough. Your trying to justify why you keep falling short when it's obvious that liverpool just are not as good as the current top 4.
Simple really mate, liverpool like us are just not good enough to compete year in year out with the current top 4.

How many TOP ( not talking very good or prospects) players do the top 6 clubs have.
Imo
Chelsea have 4-5
City have 4-5
Aresnal 4-5
United 2-3
Liverpool maybe 1 at a push.
Spurs have 1.
Southampton 1 at a push.

Bar Sterling, courinho and the injury prone sturidge that a pretty average list if you ask me.
At least 25% of that list will be sold or let go over next two years

I guess next season is a win or bust season for those in that list.

I think a couple of top players added to the squad, could inspire the mediocre youth to play out of their skins i.e. Synergy.
