Go, Stay, Don't Know

I'm sure that you've already done this but I couldn't find it so here's my idea of what's going to happen with the squad

Go

Djamel Abdoun
Greg Halford
Dan Harding
Jamie Mackie
Radi Majewski
Lars Veldwyck

Stay

Michail Antonio
Britt Assombalonga
Dexter Blackstock
Chris Burke
Oliver Burke
Chris Cohen
Dorus De Vries
Dimitar Evtimov
Danny Fox
Matty Fryatt
Jorge Grant
Jack Hobbs
Louis Laing
Henry Lansbury
Eric Lichaj
Michael Mancienne
Ben Osborn
Jamie Paterson
Roger Riera
David Vaughan
Andy Reid
Tyler Walker
Kelvin Wilson

Don't Know

Danny Collins
Stephen McLaughlin
Robert Tesche

That gives me 23 in the squad so I would then think players should leave if other players come in.

Is this pretty much what others think?

If Fox is the answer, the question is insulting.

There is murmurs suggesting Tesche triggered an extension on his contract with appearances for us. Sounds a bit ball arks to me as you surely wouldn't have loaned him out if that's the case.

Lansbury kissed the badge last time he scored, and has suggested on social media he's with us next season...

so

...

Transfer deadline day transfer then

With our ongoing farcical left back situation I find it odd that DF didn't give Roger Riera a few games there, the lad is 20, left footed and played left back for Barcelona youths and captained them to the youth champions league. So tired of these so called young players being held back, 20 is old enough. Veldwijk is another at 23 who's constantly referred to as one for the future!!!!

Good call on Riera. I've been championing McLaughlin at LB too. Hope they both shine in pre season and make it hard for DF to ignore them. Both would be an upgrade on F Up Fox.

Fox is poor but it isn't easy for a LB to defend the left side on his own. Antonio and Reid before him have zero defensive responsibilities. Fox isn't good enough to handle this and I doubt many players at this level would be. Cohen seemed comfortable with it so we need someone of his quality. Might be a risk to put Riera in there but it's worth a try. On other side we tend to play right wingers who track back.

These last 5+ games were an obvious time to try out new players in certain positions, Riera at left back being one. What can DF have possibly learnt by playing Mancienne there? Why were we persisting with Darlow in goal when he's offski, same goes for the other loanees. It was such an obvious opportunity to blood our own youngsters which everyone seems to have noted except DF. The continuous selection of the useless arsenal kid who scored over young Walker was particularly baffling. It leads me think that DF likes to talk about youngsters getting a chance without backing it up. These games were ideal for blooding Walker, Etimov, Riera, Burke, Grant, Veldwijk, but between they barely got a sniff and we lost every single game anyway without barely an effort!!! Totally pointless and wasted opportunity, I'm at a loss to understand what logic DF has for this, very concerning!!

Agreed Len, Freedman wasted a valuable opportunity to see what the young players can do, and playing loan players instead was just short sighted.

Also seen some fans on twitter saying Tesche is staying, probably so we can loan him out again next season.

We need someone like Tesche or Vaughan to come alive next season and fill the gap left by Gardner (can't see us getting him back as he will be in the first team squad at Villa surely). More hopeful of Tesche doing so. Vaughan looks unhappy and his shot that went twenty yards wide in the 90th minute in Saturday summed his time at Forest really-rushed and un-confident.

From what I gather it sounds like the Tesche deal triggered the second year after a number of appearances although before it was made to sound like it was a mutual agreement thing. He didn't do badly at Brum so it's not the worst thing in the world but it does sound like another contract that hasn't been communicated right.

See the quote from DF in here, doesn't sound like he was fully aware....
