what fee is being talked about?

No way should we sell. Poch has been instrumental in Rose development so why would he want to get rid of the player in any case.

"Rival Gael Clichy has been Pellegrini's preferred choice in the position but has still disappointed since joining from Arsenal last summer."

Wow, top journalism. He joined in 2011.

And Hugo too, Man U have made contact. Also Daniel HAS handed over complete authority to MOPO for player transfers. Let him choose and things might be better for us.

This was a source has said his agent has been in touch with ManU to discuss personal terms. The 'source' is a French newspaper blog. I seriously doubt if Spurs have given Hugo's agent the go ahead to talk personal terms Chick? As for Rose, Poch has made it clear he is happy with him and that he is actually learning his role very effectively. Like many posters on here I gave Rose a hard time but credit where credit is due. He appears to be greatly improved since Poch arrived and has earned his place on the team sheet so I would ignore the red top rubbish.

Why would we want to sell Rose? He has been very good recently and who are we going to get thats better?

I think most of us would have been happy to sell at half the £15m being mentioned just a few months ago - shows how quickly things can change in football eh? To be fair, he's been one of our better players - and performance wise was probably our best defender of the season.

It the report is true (not convinced) they'll only want him because he's English - nothing else. This would be a bad move for Spurs and DR himself. I'm confident he'll be in our starting line-up come August.

Chicken

Spot on.

Danny Rose has recently stated he was worried when Ben Davies arrived but Poch sat him down and said to him to fight for his place in the team.

Rose has took the extra competition manfully and seems to be getting better with every game.
In fact i would say after Kane, Lloris, Erikisen and Bentaleb he is our most important player and currently indispensable.

I was one of Rose's biggest critics last season, thought he was like a headless chicken with no end game. I said at the time he needs to be sold.

Well I am very happy to say I was wrong, he has obviously got his head down & worked hard to develop his game. Not quite the finished article yet, but I think he is getting there rapidly.

Definite signs we could have a decent left back on our hands, so I say even at £15m we hang on to him.

Still nowhere near good enough in my eyes poor defensively which is his primary job I would happily see him go and watch us buy somebody who can actually defend does not get caught out upfield and does not give needless free kicks away on a regular basis

grand,

=====================

The problem is, in this day and age the defending is just as primary as pushing up to help attacks. Granted, back in the day a left back should be able to defend first and foremost and if they could play a bit on the floor – even better. Most fullbacks get re-invented there. Ashley Cole used to be a centre forward, Kyle Walker also played striker, it’s what the clubs do these days.

Rose’s defending was very iffy last season and at the beginning of this, but he has improved tenfold and I think he’s even carried our CBs at times – in the air – from set pieces. He has quite a leap for a little guy. I’m certainly happy to keep him & Davies as our 2 options for LB.
