Floyd vs Manny closer than we thought?

I just re-watched the fight with no sound, pausing and slowing down sections a few times to see what landed clean and effective. And before D4 wets himself, Floyd still won, but it was much closer than I originally thought.

How I scored it on the night:

Floyd 116-112, giving Manny the benefit of the doubt in round 2. Thought it could easily have been 117-111.

Manny: 2,4,6,7

Floyd: 1,3,5,8,9,10,11,12

Re-watch score (No sound):

Floyd 115-113, with a few close rounds.

Manny: 2,4,6,7,9

Floyd: 1,3,5,8,10,11,12

Rd 1: Floyd. Clear.
Rd 2: Swing, Manny. Neither land much clean. Manny for effective aggression, Floyd holding too much.
Rd 3: Floyd. Turned Manny with Left Hooks and good ring generalship nullified Manny's aggression. Landed more effectively in trades.
Rd 4: Manny. Clear.
Rd 5: Floyd. Clear.
Rd 6: Manny. Good Aggression, pushed Floyd back to ropes. Neither landed much clean to head, Manny got a few good shots to the body.
Rd 7: Manny. Floyd active and keeping range but not landing, Manny landed more effective shots.
Rd 8: Floyd. Manny had the bigger moment, but overall good countering and turning from Floyd and good with the Left Hooks off the ropes.
Rd 9: Manny. Landing more effective, Floyd's jab not landing. Good Manny aggression, Floyd holding.
Rd 10: Swing, Floyd. Turned Manny with L.Hooks, jab effective. Manny got to ropes and flurried often, good aggression, but only connected with a few clean.
Rd 11: Floyd. Clear.
Rd 12: Floyd. Clear.

Impressions and differences:

Floyd was not landing the jab nearly as much as I thought. He kept range with it superbly and that had a lot to do with him winning, but Manny's defence was good, he was slipped well and took a lot of shots on his gloves. Round 9 was the only one I changed my mind on, but there were others where Floyd was pawing with the jab and not landing it much. There were a good amount of right hands that didn't land that I counted first time too.

I think the commentary swayed thinking a bit and the fact that it wasn't what we are used to seeing from Pacquiao made myself and others think that Floyd was dominating.

Don't get me wrong, Floyd did control the range excellently and fought his fight for the most part. But after re-watching it I really don't think he schooled Manny the way I, and others, thought during the fight. Neither landed that much clean, there's no way compubox stats were correct.

Has anyone re-watched it yet? What are your thoughts?

Suggests he countered perfectly well.

No it doesn't

It's a very good counter to the argument that Manny is better than Floyd,

I suppose it does suggest that Pacquiao needs him some more Ariza special shakes, the ones Roach gives him just aren't the same.

Memo's PEDs done the trick.

As long as you get the win and get away with it, nothing else matters.

Considering how crap Floyd is according to D4 and he complete no show that Manny gave, he looked very much below average.

Fancy not being able to put such a fraud away

Floyd had to hire Heredia, Ariza and Bayless and still needed Manny to fight with a torn rotator cuff and just sneaked a victory where he only landed a handful of hard crisp clean punches.

Still doesn't change this;

Mayweather W Pacquiao UD 12

48-0, I think Mayweather would have long retired had he had to put up with the ignominy of losing six times.
