And make him Captain I reckon.
How we could have done with him in those last 10 games.
New Contract For Eustace ?

I agree and disagree at the same time. I think psychology has been the main failing throughout the team but also think the midfield whilst technically very good lacks the diversity needed to push on.
With a box to box MF that can still pass it makes our 4-2-4 chasing the game tactic more solid defensively it also allows us to switch to a more attacking 4-3-3 or a more defensive 4-2-3-1 during a game without having to make a personnel change.
I would have one of Bryson, Hendrick or Hughes in the starting lineup but no more than one IMHO. We lost two many games in midfield and our only hope was to either rely on the wings for a breakthrough or to get our passing tempo back up. Most teams played very narrow against us this season and if our passing game was slightly off we just lost this battle completely. A midfielder that can command his zone play the killer pass and shoot from distance, a midfielder that can break up play and play the easy ball and then the leadership of the Eust or the genius of George or the unnoticed solidity of Perkins orchestrating the devastation from the rear. Oscar or Bunjaku could come in to play the Hughes possession role if playing against a more open opposing team.

Oscar likely to leave, 2W. He has other options according to the Mac.

Back to the original topic. What ever anyone thinks of Eustace as a player he is past 35 and has a poor injury record of late. A pay per game contract might be more appropriate. ZHC as much loved by the corpulent and disappointed Mr Ashley.

Spart I can't believe you are supporting Zero Hours Contracts on a day like this. Have you gone over to the other side?

Eustace has had a long career so if he hasn't put aside a bit to carry him through the post football years then it is a poor show. If he wants to keep playing at this level then I can't see an alternative. I am sure he could find himself another club in the lower divisions. He unlike most on ZHCs has a choice.

I think the Eust is more for leadership capabilities with my recommended additions ahead of him in midfield he'll just need to use his most potent weapon as SM called it his mouth.
Think Zola also said one of the biggest reasons for Watford's loss of form in his second season was the Eust leaving.
I hope he's not the only defensive MF cover for Thorne this year though. Thanks for the heads up Fin. re. Oscar, Bunjaku it is then

I wish they'd listened to me 2 years ago when I said to buy Aiden Flint and Matt Ritchie. £1m would have got us both.
Flint has been outstanding for Bristol City this season both in defence and with 19 goals! We all know about Matt Ritchie.

I talk to Flint from time to time. We could of signed him for £100k from Alfreton 4 years go..Derby only wanted to pay £30k and take Liam Hearn s well. He ws sold to Swindon for £120K. While he was at Swindon he had talks with Clough regarding joining. Clough told him he would be 6th choice CB behind Bucko, Keogh, O'Brien, O'Connor and Naylor so he joined Bristol City. He's told his agent he'll walk over broken glass to come to Derby. He's on holiday now. 16 goals for a CB isnt a bad return in 1 season

BTW if we sign McClean I would strongly consider handing my season ticket in, I'd rather have Ched Evans.
