While your peak athletic years almost coincide with your most reckless and experimental years You'd think you could have a moment of realisation at say 22 having dipped your toe and thought, just make the next 9 or so years count, be the best you can, chase those extra few percent and be professional in a total way them you can do what ever you want. At that age, in the present, in the moment it is hard to have such logical thoughts, particularly if your already predesposed to the propensity of wanting to push the rules or have a dabble.
