Best player at Emirates?

Next year it'll be a decade since we have been at Emirates. Trophies may not have been as common as in Highbury days, especially it's last decade (nice bit of contrast here), but Arsenal's brand and image as a whole has undoubtedly risen across the globe nonetheless.

The stadium is a work of art. After the first season, which at times didn't feel like home, now it definitely is. There's been two people in particular who have been ever present from Highbury to Emirates presently, Monsieur Wenger and Abou Diaby (Theo never played for first team at Highbury to my knowledge).

So in those past 9 years who has been the best player to wear the Arsenal shirt? Remember, Thierry Henry only played on season there, and it was injury ravaged and produced his lowest goal scoring return for us, so it can't be him. He's the best ever at Highbury though.

I have a couple of names that stick in my mind, and I am sure at everyone else's-Fabregas and van Persie. Both two of the most hated players for Arsenal in the modern era if not in the whole history of the club.

Funnily enough I think both of those players actually played there best football for Arsenal. Fabregas left at an age where you can say he was still a few years away from his peak, but maybe he hit his peak at Arsenal. At times he was breathtaking to watch, the way he would control games and play passes that no other player can see. Not to forget pop up with those important goals. He really was the ultimate attacking midfielder. At Barca his stats were as good as ones for Arsenal, but performances never were. With Chelsea, he's seemed to become very specific. It seems like he's becomes the guy to provide the final pass, rather than do everything else too. His assists record again is extremely impressive, but his goal scoring has dipped significantly, which is a surprise. IMO with his form at Arsenal, I don't think there was a better play maker in the world at the time and he would also get into Wenger's all time XI.

On the other hand van Persie, mostly spent his time on injury table, but still managed to get in top 10 of highest scorers for the club. His best season was undoubtedly his last one. But in the seasons prior he also provided with some real magic and finesse.
