How true is this.

Last week, Bolton released a statement denying talks between themselves and an Irish consortium, headed by businessman Gerry Carlile, had taken place regarding a potential takeover at Macron Stadium.

Club chairman Phil Gartside flew to Thailand last November to meet TEC-Tero and Siam Sport Syndicate, although no deal was forthcoming, while speculation linking an Israeli takeover also appeared to fall flat.

Latest gossip, however, which was printed in Sunday's edition of The Sun, suggests Wanderers could be about to receive a boost to their non-existent transfer kitty, with Gartside close to agreeing an investment deal with an as-yet unnamed Middle Eastern group.

Thoughts.....

Well he is stopping over there on his return from South Africa.

Hmm. Depends how this goes - could be a "sponsorship" investment deal rather than fully blown takeover. I'd certainly take that as a way round FFP for the season.

Any type of investment is welcomed at this time be it a full take over or sponsorship. I hope there is truth in this and money comes in fingers crossed.

I wouldn't put money on any of the rumours. OK, Gartside, flew to Thailand and came home with nothing we have recently had the Irish consortium mentioned as takeover prospects.

The real problem is, the size of our debt. Eddie, in all probability can't afford to write off the debt. Even though he could sell the club for what it's worth but it wouldn't compensate him for his investment to date.

Also, any possible suitor, will be looking to screw him to the floor on price. They know we are in a vulnerable position, so why wouldn't they.

The only hope that we have, is that this mysterious Middle eastern group, are oil rich and want a new toy to play with.

I wouldn't mind us taking their money but I'm not holding my breath.

It's OK PG has taken his trusty negotiator with him. He wouldn't let Phil sign anything unless he thought it a good idea and for the best.
One tough cookie is Baldrick did you see how he once negotiated going from one small turnip to a world record sized turnip. I don't know what Asda will say when the sold subject to contract sign goes up over the store.
You may have heard before about a multinational store group looking for premises and utilising one end of a football ground before somewhere I can't think where though.

Sounds familiar.
