Isn't this week's girlfriend he's fallen deeply in love with from west London?

Can anyone really see Arsenal spending the amounts reported on a twenty year old? Or Chelsea?

"Henry should never have admitted what he said below, would you ever agree to work for an employer who agrees a clause and then renages on it?"

Brilliant point. It was dumb for Henry to publicly admit that and dishonest to act the way he did. Yes, in the end Henry got a huge deal with Barca, but the long-term damage is that Liverpool players are now very distrustful of Henry and will think twice before signing a new contract.

Henry should never have admitted what he said below, would you ever agree to work for an employer who agrees a clause and then renages on it? Does make me wonder now whether Mr Suarez used the world cup to engineer a move as a result.
============================================================
Far-fetched theory of the day.

Players choose clubs on the basis of money, prospect of winning trophies, and maybe sometimes location, probably in that order. Occasionally there’ll be some sentiment, but usually only even then if the other criteria are not too far short of the player’s expectations.

Suarez was always going to Barcelona if they offered, for all 4 reasons. He had always wanted to play for them, and his wife’s family lived there, but he was never going to be short on salary or prospect of winning trophies if he went there, either.

I doubt if any player, in the history of the game, has chosen a club based on their reputation for wording contracts, and their reputation for adhering to the clauses in it.

And that's an absolute fact!

Apparently.

I remember very clearly that legal experts were called in during the 40+1 saga. They reported that there was no sell on clause, only some funny wording.

United promising Ronaldo that he could have his dream move to Real and then backing out and keeping him as a slave for years is far more damaging than a poorly worded clause in a contract being ignored.

Damage to either club, none.

No one cares

Booing is a nice step. I also suggest some death threats. That will make him stay, surely.

Maybe we should go round his house with baseball bats and balaclavas. It worked with Rooney.
