Season player ratings

OK not a great season but still finished runners up to a very good Chelsea side and played some great stuff at times and scored the most goals in the league

Player ratings out of 10:

Hart: Dodgy start but after being dropped upped his game big time, one of our stand out performers his performances vs Barcelona and Spurs were just world class. 9

Zabaleta: Looked knackered after the world cup but still gave 100% as we expect, recovered 2nd half of the season but an average one by his standards. 6

Mangala: Big price tag but the PL is a big step up from Portugal, some shocking performances but he is still young and needs time. 5

Demichelis: Probably our best defender 1st half of the season went downhill from there. 6

Kompany: Probably his worst season since being moved to CB, plagued by injuries and not helped out by others around him he'll be back to his best after a nice long break. 5

Clichy: On his day he's amazing unfortunately his day doesn't come often enough, would like to see him moved on personally. 5

Kolorov: Marmite player great going forward but he's never a LB, still has a place in this squad I believe. 6

Fernando: Just don't get what he does...looks lost and out of his depth, poor signing. 4

Fernandinho: The Germany game seems to have drained his confidence, covering for lazy Yaya cant have helped...still has a role to play despite an iffy season. 6

Yaya Toure: Sure he can pull something special out the bag, but is beyond lazy and he failed to turn up when it mattered this season which was always his strong point in previous seasons. Time to go big man! 5

Milner: Gives everything and seems to have improved going forward, shame he will probably be gone in the summer. 8

Navas: Frustrating player never takes anyone on, cant beat the first man on a cross and his finishing is awful. Liked the look of him last season but maybe its best he returns to La Liga. 4

Lampard: Strange signing but he did score some important goals and showed why he has been one of the best PL players of all time. Great bloke and a true pro. 7

Silva: What more do I need to say about this man? Absolute genius and a joy to watch. 9

Nasri: After a fantastic season last year seems to have gone back to his old self a real shame. Can see him going in the summer. 5

Jovetic: After a fantastic pre-season and great start in August he looked like the player we paid all that money for, sadly injuries have plagued him again and his form has suffered. Doubt he will be here next season. 5

Dzeko: Great guy and on his day a lethal striker but I'm not gonna hold back he has been absolutely woeful this season, needs a new challenge. 4

Aguero: Best striker in the league, world class finisher and a joy to watch.
Hopefully his injuries are behind him, he's vital to us. 9

Others:

Caballero: Looks average, Pants was better. 5

Sagna: Past it. 4

Boyata: Not good enough and never will be. 4

Bony: Not seen enough of him but looks dangerous. N/A

Pellegrini: His stubbornness to change his line up and tactics cost us many points this season, but in his defence he has been let down by a certain few players. I think he will see out his contract. 6

Good breakdown apart from Navas, who I still think is an asset to the squad.

Cheers Boris maybe i'm a bit harsh on Navas he was decent last season but his corners and crosses really have frustrated me this season, especially when we are chasing a game.

I think he's got the right attitude and the skill level required - Just needs a bit of luck to boost his confidence.

He's played more this season due to injuries. In the right game like Southampton away he's a real asset, but in the wrong games he is a bit poor. Handy to have in the squad I still think.

Tad harsh on Mangala for me, it's not been a remarkable debut season, but promising at least. And another text book lesson in playing the offside trap from Demi today.

Last game for Milner imo, he looked very emotional when he was subbed.

Could have heard how Liverpool were doing at Stoke though.

Jimmy, be careful what you wish for...

Yeah that was the wave of a man that has worn the shirt for the last time for us. He's been a good servant for us.

Cannot seriously believe Jimmy would swop the offer he has (if true) for less with that bunch of bottlers who will win nothing. They sold their only real player last year and replaced him with mad Mario, does he want to be playing with that type of outfit in E Europe on a Thursday? He is much much better than that.

I still think it has a lot to do with the lack of English players in the squad. It must be hard going into training everyday when everyone's speaking Spanish.

On another note, the brief glimpses of Bony we've seen so far makes me think we've bought the player Balotelli ( and the posters on Bluemooon) thinks he is.

That classy touch followed by a horrible shin dig that went out for a corner makes me think we've bought Dzeko mark 2!

Who do Mangala and Kompany get the same rating? Im sure with Mangala in defence you were pretty good. Hes a young CB in a new league and i personally think he did ok.

6 for him IMO and 4 for Kompany
