Another season of turmoil and cataclysm for fans in Mersey Red. Not the first and probably not the last time we will be in such a position. Déjà vu of eras under Evans and Houiller, Benitez of 09/10, Dalglish of 11/12...not forgetting the sheer darkness that gathered over the Shankly gates with Roy Hodgson 'steadying the ship'. A curse that seemed to have began under player turned to manager Graeme Souness.
In recent years Liverpool FC have only twice come close to breaking that curse. The Rafulution came to fruition in 2009, when the club came close to lifting their first Premier League trophy only to be beaten by rivals Manchester United. The other year seems to be potentially quipped The Suarez Year. The striker had a great season the year before scoring a huge thirty goals for the club, but this year achieved one better, and nearly helped the reds finally break that curse. It wasn't to be.
Both following seasons saw the club's players of the year leave in the summer, with both Xabi Alonso and Luis Suarez heading to bright and beautiful Spain...the Hollywood of football. Italians came into replace them, but neither was good enough to ever live upto the hole left behind. Semi-final outings masked some hope for both seasons in the Europa League and FA Cup, but both Brendan and Rafa seemed to have felt the full force of missing out on the title the year before.
Funnily enough both managers have the two highest winning ratios as mangers of the club, since the last title was held aloft in 1990. Rafa with a very impressive 56.29, and Rodgers with an ok 52.60 (Kenny: 47.30, Hodgson 41:94, Houiller 45:05) Before Rafa had joined the club though Liverpool had won six trophies in four years, and also averaged a league standing of 3rd/4th (3.5). Before Rodgers had joined the club Liverpool had won one trophy in five years, and averaged a mere 5th/6th (5.4). Two very different eras of the club's history.
The club seem to be at another crossing. Will the curse be broken with Brendan? Do we give Rafa a second go? Or is it time for another Klopp?

Any idea what Rodgers win ratio is like outside of the Suarez season, not that that season doesn't count but the win ratio outside of that season gives you a more realistic figure going forward IMO.

Without Suarez considered in Brendan's seasons, then just take our win ratio from this season. Leaves us in 6th place I think on average
