Maybe, you guys would know better than me.
I just remember reading on here that most of you guys were ragin' at McCoist for buying old warhorses an not giving youth a chance, especially at the start in the third division. McCoist came out with his reasons for not playing youth at the time, but I think it was the biggest mistake he made.
Having a spine of Veteran players and having 5 or six younger guys would have been much better in my humble opinion.

Zico ally facked up big time and he was hopeless however he had to bring in players that he thought could do a job and the only ones he could do that with was the ones he knew previously because there was no scouting system in place and there still isn't one, that's not the managers fault
----------------------------------------------------------------------
McCoist was just <pish> poor. I think you're giving him too much leeway. Even without a scouting system, he should have been able to find better buys. A club the size of Rangers has a big informal scouting network through ex players, etc. I'm not letting him off that easily. He was central to every problem we had on the park, be it players brought in, young players not brought through properly, poor training and coaching methods, poor tactical nous and a lazy, arrogant culture amongst players. The guy has a LOT to answer for.

Yea that's why I said he was hopeless and facked up but he had no scouting network, it like blaming McCall for not bringing players in, it's very difficult

Not at all like blaming McCall for nit bringing players in. He had no transfer window so couldn't. What about guys like Scott Allan who was apparently offered but knocked back. There's any number should have gone to other teams and done well. Having said that, once they got to Rangers, they would probably have gone backwards under McCoist.
