Wow what a fight we had on Saturday night in Brazil at UFC Fight Night 67. The main event was contested between two of the welterweights best strikers in Thiago Alves and Carlos Condit and they certainly did not disappoint. Condit showed that his lay off has done nothing to his class and technique. He looked vicious in there and the thing i like about Condit is his variation in strikes. The guy can throw kicks, punches, knees ad elbows and he can do it in a swift and fluent combinations. Thiago Alves is one of my favourite fighters and he had some good moments especially with his leg kicks but when Condit landed a big left in the second round and broke Alves nose it was only going to end one way.
The welterweight division is stacked with talent and now it has just got a lot more talented with Condits return.
Thoughts?
The natural born killer is back!!!!!

Love watching Condit, absolutely delighted he won. In impressive style too. Back with a vengeance!

If anything he looks to have improved in his time off, those elbows were vicious.
One of my favourite fighters.

I was worried when he started a bit slow that maybe he had lost 'something' during his layoff, but wow.....he was savage. Such clever striking, and what I love is that he always throws combinations, and completely unpredictable ones at that. Compare that with so many UFC fights of late where it's in and out with one or two strikes. Condit fights with no fear, which is awesomely entertaining.

Alves showed a lot of heart by persistently coming forward. But the manner in which Condit systemically took him apart was breathtaking and vicious.
