Brian Smith to coach Wakefield

No big surprise that Webster had to fall on his sword after almost a year in charge - although to be honest last season and the early part of this, the results weren't all that bad. But clearly ever since mid Feb, things really have gone off the rails and he had to go.

But then again, with such small gates, a pretty rickety old ground, and no big signings, it did make me wonder exactly what Webby was supposed to achieve?

As for Smith: well he has the coaching experience, but he's still dealing with the same players as Webster; and time is running out, not helped by a severe tonking by the Rhinos on home turf the other week!

I rather suspect it will all end in tears at the end of the season, or perhaps even more sooner than that!
