Let's hope it the future is now bright for football and we can look forward to a more level playing field as far as the Brits are concerned. I wonder if the 2018 and 2022 World Cups will be reallocated?

Going to be some ructions between Europe and the rest of the world, though!

No matter what team you support, if you love the game then you agree that Blatter needed to go and Fifa needs to be completely revamped and set up again.
I would also push for an investigation into the 2018 and 2022 world cups and push for another vote.
Hopefully something will be finally done about the hilarity of corruption that is within Fifa.
It just depresses me that we have had to wait for America to do something when we have known for years about the corruption and yet have done absolutely nothing!!!

It is patently obvious that Qatar bought the world cup, no one in their right mind would have voted for them without substantial "encouragement" - massive bribes. Blatter could stand up and defend that decision because no one had any authority to challenge it. Hopefully now they'll be stripped of it and it can go to a PROPER host.
It is sad that it took America to take action, everyone else was either too scared or financially motivated not to make a fuss.

I really believe that one or both investigations have found a link between Blatter and the corrupt minions, and advised him to resign before being arrested.
Why else would he resign only five days after being re-elected?

It's odd he resigned like he did and hopefully he will get an early morning visit from the authorities soon.

Splat Blatter and good riddance.
1200 immigrant workers have DIED on the Qatar World Cup construction sites. That is reason enough to strip them of the competition, apart from the obvious.

It seem pretty clear that something iffy went on around the 2022 award to Qatar and who knows relating to 2018. Funny thing is that even Platini apparently voted for Qatar.
The one that is not so clear is 2018 and even if that is found to be a bit dodgy, I think some would fear taking it away from Russia because of possible reactions

International football is now in a bit of a mess.
Who is going to make any decisions now? The first decision to be made is who makes the second decision. With so many of the administrators now out of the picture, and more arrests to come, who's left. Platini voted for Qatar; can he be trusted? I'd like to see any Association that voted for Qatar banned from the decision making process and be limited to non voting membership of FIFA or whatever takes its place.
Anyway I'm glad it has come to this.
Reward the USA by giving them the 2022 tournament.

Someone posted a FIFA hierarchy tree before Blatter's resignation the other day and all of the people in the couple of executive layers below him had either resigned or been arrested. As much as removing the leader can have little effect if replaced by someone just as bad; hopefully the fact that lots of people connected to this have gone will make it much more substantial.
From what was written in the blog I posted the other day it was suggested that Blatter was backed heavily from Asia and Africa when first elected. Then during his time in power seemed to want to spread the influence in football away from the traditional football nations in that direction. As such they now collectively can have much more say and can easily over power those that have the biggest leagues, players and crowds in the world. So I doubt we should expect that balance be adjusted, but maybe if everything is done on the straight and narrow we'll have less of the chucking schemes/funds/competitions to nations less interested in football to curry favour
