I'm not defending him, he was being a díck - but I don't think it's much beyond "he was having a laugh". I think some people need to step back a minute, take a deep breath and think about how much it _actually_ bothers them.
Just like he was "having a laugh" when he assaulted & spat in a taxi drivers face just because he was wearing a Spurs hat

Well, no, not just like that at all. This was shouting - it's quite different. This is the sort of silly hysteria I'm talking about to be honest.

Obviously just "having a laugh" on these occasions too!

It is not silly hysteria, it is valid criticism, he was being offensive & using words in front of kids he should not have done.
I would say the same if it had been one of our players.
It is really about standards of behaviour, PL footballers are role models & as such should at least behave respectfully in public.

Yes, yes, it is bad behaviour - but someone swearing in the street is hardly something worth all this blather. As I said, I'm not defending him, he was being a díck - but there's far worse on here, probably in this thread in fact. Yes, yes, role model, etc., etc. - I'm sure if all footballers the world over stopped swearing tomorrow and told everyone else it "wasn't cool" everyone's little darlings would carry on regardless.

That is the point though, it is not just swearing in the street was it? It was over a loudspeaker and was shown on television!
As for your comment that the links showing incidents involving Wilshere as not relevant, of course they are relevant.
It shows he has a problem & it needs to be dealt with. Otherwise he just stumble from one incident to the next. And before you say anything else, he accepted cautions on both of these occasions.

" it is not just swearing in the street was it?"
Yes. It was. And probably less offensive than any number of chants you can hear on the telly from every televised match.
"As for your comment that the links showing incidents involving Wilshere as not relevant, of course they are relevant."
It's not relevant to this latest charge, and that is the subject of this article and this thread. It may be relevant to someone wishing to demonise someone, again, off the back of this latest incident - but it's not to the thread.
Look, I get it, you want a baddie to blame for your kids running riot. Whatever, at some point people are going to run out of others to blame and accept it might just be their fault.
" And before you say anything else, he accepted cautions on both of these occasions."
So? Then he should probably get done this time, he is being done this time - it's daft, but there it is. That's what you get for behaving like a díck.

btw - I tried to generalise it, may have failed, I'm not talking about YOUR kids. You don't even have kids for all I know.

My kids are probably older than you!!!

========================
I thought I’d answer these 2 points.
Just to make it clear, I lose no sleep over what Wilshere says or does, and I even said earlier on this article that I didn’t think it warranted FA intervention. But when he has been warned (by the FA) for doing exactly the same thing – just 12 months ago – then I feel he deserves everything he gets. The victory parade is meant to be a proud moment for the players, fans and the club in general, but instead, because of his actions, the focus is now more on the cretinous little slug shaming himself than it is on the achievement of the club winning back to back FA Cups.
And I agree. I personally don’t buy all this “they shouldn’t do this or that because footballers are role models etc”. Footballers are footballers and they become role models for the things they do well. My footballing idols were players like Hoddle and Gazza but that doesn’t mean I now think disabled people are paying for what they did in a previous life and neither do I crave a bottle of gin with my cornflakes. But just because I do not think kids will want to pick up a microphone and start singing derogatory songs because of what he did, does not mean he has not brought the game into disrepute or that he shouldn’t be punished for doing so.
When Spurs win a cup (it’s been a while ) or a game in general , the last thing I think of doing is singing anti-rival club songs – unless it’s them we have beaten of course .
