Van Persie to Lazio?

Strong rumours "on the line" that Lazio are close to agreeing a deal for van Persie worth £15m.

Yes, I know it's twitter and the like that are reporting this but if it were to happen how would you feel? I have the feeling his best days are behind him and that would be a tremendous price to get for him.

With Falcao gone and possibly RVP too, surely we must be after a top striker? I think we all agree we could do with one

@TransferRelated: BREAKING: Lazio have reached an agreement with Manchester Utd to sign striker Robin van Persie for £15m. [Il Messaggero]

Oh, i didn't realise that they'd signed Dybala now. Unless they're willing to sell one of their other strikers to accommodate RVP then i guess Lazio is the only other little choice to take in Italy.

Unless he chooses Fenerbahce? (sp?)

Good younger replacement for Klose.

RVP was a lot more important in our title winning season than Berba ever was.

Even though he was top scorer he wasn't that influential. Eleven of his goals came in three games and he was dropped for Chicha in the second half of the season.

RVP wouln't have won the title with Arsenal though.

Agreed Berba wasn't right for us.
Still, he has been my favourite to watch at OT in the last ten years. He could do magic.

What a nothing career he's had. Was 1 PL title worth it?

Had he stayed 1 more year when Santi was brought in we'd have walked the league. His last season we had no playmaker then he leaves and we have Santi but no striker ffs.

He would've brought the title home got close to Wright's record and been an iconic figure, now he'll look back on a nothing career as effective as Berbatov who's goals were also responsible for a title

For someone of his standard he'll regret leaving. We've put up semi decent challenges whilst winning cups with someone as poor as Giroud up top O have no doubt he'd have succeeded if he was patient

Oh well great laugh he'll be in Serie A next year just when he helped restore European football back at OT

Rvp won the title, Arsenal didn't, you do the math

RVP regret leaving Arsenal... haha...wake up and smell the coffee. How many titles Arsenal won in the last decade ?
He got to play for the greatest manager, won the league and thoroughly loved it. Shame for him SAF retired.
Can't see him regretting leaving somehow.

Some Arsenal fan love to brag about what they would have done had the reality been entirely different.

They won't win the league again under Wenger and they all know that !

Yep I don't think they will either.

£15m for a declining striker with a year left on his contract sounds way too good to be true.
