It's good to see consistency within the England set up. England's women's team have emulated the men in style by proving themselves completely and utterly useless on the world stage.
Incompetence and ineptitude were evident for all to see as they went down 1 nil to France.
In fairness, a more realistic score would have been 10-0 with France amassing 19 shots on target to England's 3. ( England's 3 were of the pathetic dribbling type, toward the corner flag)
The possession stats were even more embarrassing with the computer unable to calculate England's time on the ball as it wasn't programmed with nano-second technology.
At last, Consistency for England

You're right Tall.
All we need is a motivational talk from you. The astounding lack of investment in the national infrastructure which leads to an incredible lack of success will be solved in an instant.

Tony
Lack of investment ???
Not sure about that

Actually that's not too far from the truth.
You can moan all you want about whatever springs to mind but how can you possibly expect to see improvement in a team when you spend every waking hour trying to convince them that they're rubbish?

Tall. They're not shjt because people aren't being nice to them and being critical. They're shjt because they can't play football as well as nearly everyone else. You can massage their self esteem if you want. Maybe said them a letter but it won't make a jot of difference to their fantastic ineptitude.
But anyway, just to ease your worries, I'm sure they won't be reading this post.

I'm not disputing that things are bad at the moment, cos yes, they are pretty dire.
What bugs me is that people seem to be acting like England are beyond hope.
Instead of seeing managers and FA officials moaning about how we can't have this and don't do that, I want to see them put some effort into improving things.
Instead of just blindly slinging abuse at teams, we should be looking at each problem individually. We then solve what can be solved and work around what can't.

And one such problem is we spend so much time convincing ourselves we can't win.
Best example of this is the last World Cup.
If any other country got our group, they would've gone in thinking "right, this is who we've got. How do we beat them?"
Whereas we went in thinking "y'know what, let's just send Scotland in our place for all the good we'll do."

It's only in the last world cup we had limited expectations. In every other one before that everyone was convinced we could go all the way.
The result ? - Same - Failure.

The reason I wrote the original post was through to frustration at our woeful display. It's not the fact we lost that upset me so much, It's the manner, the pathetic capitulation on the world stage. It's a sad state of affairs when the people that point out the blindingly obvious are somehow blamed for the awfulness of the team.
It's the last and most feeble exuse for failure.
There's a house down the road that has it's roof caving in and all the windows smashed. It's a total mess. But I better not say that, because somehow it'll be my fault.

But if we have the resources to fix that house up and get it back to its former glory, then what are we waiting for?
I'm not blaming you for anything. I completely understand your frustration cos I feel it too. We know we've got a decent team so seeing them fall apart like that is beyond maddening.
At the end of the day, we all want to see England measuring up to the Germanies and Brazils of world football. But right now it seems so near yet so far away at the same time.

Best team in Britain got a top top result last night
England will never ever be mentioned in the same quality as the Brazilians or Germans seriously get real
